He’s ready for his close up, but she’s the one calling the shots.
On the night of her graduation from film school, straight-laced Maddie Bauers fell completely out of character for an oh-my-god make-out session with a perfect stranger. Complete with the big O.
Seven years later, that romantic interlude is still fresh in her mind. That stranger is now a rich and famous actor. And she’s one very distracted camera assistant working on his latest production. She might consider another tryst…if he even remembers her.
Micah Preston does indeed remember Maddie. Too bad he’s sworn off Hollywood relationships. He allows himself as much sex as he likes—and oh, he does like—but anything more is asking for trouble. For the woman, not for him. Yet knowing Maddie could want more than a movie-set fling doesn’t stop him from pursuing her like a moth drawn to hot stage lights.
But as the shoot nears its end, it’s decision time. Is it time to call, “Cut!” on their affair, or is there enough material for a sequel?
Warning: Contains a dreamy movie star hero, a focus-pulling heroine, off-the-charts instant chemistry, steamy sex in near-public locations, and a new use for lip gloss.
He's ready for his close up,
but she's the one calling the shots.
Take Two was
a great sexy romance story that will steam up your screens of your
kindle. I would give this book a 5 stars easily! This story was told
in dual POV's of Micah and
Maddie. I guarantee you will devour this book, I finished it all in
one night. It does end in a fabulous HEA, but it will leave you wanting
so much more.
Micah and Maddie met
one night at a college party. Neither expected to meet each other, both
wanted to be left alone, both dragged there by friends. So when
Maddie sees a dark brooding man sitting on a bench away from everyone
why does she sit down? Oh because she was intrigued by this man even
before she spoke to him. They strike up a friendly conversation and
both realize they are into the movie/film business neither really
revealing too much information. They have a steamy make out session
that was unfortunately interrupted by Maddie's drunk best friend. Micah
asks to
see Maddie again and she says yes, but what happens when Micah never
calls? Maddie is upset by this but it wont break her this is why she
stays far away from men like him but she just can't get him off her
mind. Micah isn't the relationship kind of guy he
has big plans for his movie career and woman only get in the way unless
they are beneath him. For this reason he doesn't call Maddie he will
never see this woman again so why should he care that he felt something
special with her from just a kiss- But she will always be the "Maddie
from the party" that he never called. Seven years pass and they meet
again, Micah is the big famous actor and Maddie is the production
assistant on his next movie. Maddie instantly knows who Micah is but
does he remember her? Can they work together knowing that the
attraction between them will only get in the way. Can Micah let go of
his insecurities that woman only want him because of who he is and who
he knows. It's frowned upon to get involved with an actor but can she
put her job at risk for Micah, or is it all just a game to him? Will
these two have a take two with there relationship or does Micah still
live by the motto work
first and nothing else matters?? Is she willing to put everything on
the line for him to be disappointed once again? Can they find there
HEA?
I am a huge fan now of Laurelin Paige the
chemistry between these 2 characters is off the charts hot! I can't
wait for more from this author, thank you for such a great story!
Here is some of my favorite lines from the book:
Micah- He'd
spent the last
seven years on top of his game, focused on his career. He'd been
tempted into love by the hottest women, offered the best drugs and the
sweetest of sins and he'd always resisted. No hesitation or doubt. But
now he faced six weeks on set with a woman who once upon a time didn't
care about what or who he was. Maddie Bauers just might be his undoing.
Maddie- Maddie
sighed. This was crazy. Her and Micah and chances and all of it.
Absolute madness. She'd read somewhere that the definition of crazy
was doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.
Over and over she'd said she was finished with Micah and over and over
again she returned to him like a
boomerang flung into the wind. If she really wanted to be done with
him, she had to do something different. But what if she abandoned her
entire agenda? What if she decided returning to Micah's arms was
actually an okay ending? Heaven knew that was exactly where she wanted
to be.
Micah and Maddie- "Is this how you like it?" she murmured as he kissed along her jaw. "Real slow?"
He
licked at her neck. " I like it slow and sweet." He nipped her
earlobe. "And I like it fast and frantic." He grinned against her ear.
"And I like it when there's a
chance we might be caught." He pulled his head up so he could look
directly in her hooded eyes. "But mostly, I like it with you." She
moaned again as he pulled himself out to the very tip before plunging in
again. "That was very sweet to say." she said. "And this is very
slow."
Laurelin Paige is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She's a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there's kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn't seem to complain, however. When she isn't reading or writing sexy stories, she's probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine.
