If you have not experienced this book yet you MUST! And yes it is an experience. It's enlightening, beautiful and chilling!

Emma Thomas is hiding a terrible secret. Despite her academic prowess and athletic accomplishments, she focuses on surviving high school by fading into the shadows. Without expecting it, she finds love. It challenges her to recognize her own worth- at the risk of revealing a truth that could destroy everything.

Reason to Breath is an intense, woeful and deep story. This book sucked me in quickly. I was completely captivated the entire time. It took me on an emotional journey that was filled with secrecy, friendship and love.
Emma is a high school student that is trying to fade into the background.  She is a bright and independent girl. She is sent to live with her Aunt and Uncle.. While there she endures a lot of emotional and physical suffering. I was intrigued by her endurance and strength but at times wanted to shake her. I almost couldn't bare what awaited her at her new home.

Thankfully she has close friendship with Sarah.  There is also that boy named Evan that broke through her defenses and showed her the beauty in life. He gave her some normalcy in her fucked up life.

I recommend you try this unbelievably painful and somewhat poetic book by Rebecca Donovan. She is a brilliant storyteller. you will surely enjoy learning about Emma's secrets, how she copes and who she trusts.

What to Possibly expect while Reading:

Finger Nail Nibbling

Shortness of Breath

Inability to Sleep

Gasping

Swooning

May shit Yourself

Was it Worth it?

 ABSOLUTELY

I read the entire series and I would recommend these books to anyone. Rebecca Donovan is a gifted writer. Maybe even a one of a kind type of writer in my opinion....
