Heather paused, rested her weight on his thighs, her mouth opened slightly. Nicolo stared at her in wonder, his eyes probing hers, looking for something deep in her soul. They both froze. Stared. Unable to find the correct words for what they were feeling. A slight breeze whipped her hair up, but she did not move. Although they sat motionless, their breathing quickened. Five additional years I could have spent with you in my lifetime. I won’t let another day pass.”
