Blog Tour and Review: Already Gone by Kristen Probly and K.L. Grayson

Already Gone by Kristen Proby and K.L. Grayson
Release Date: August 27, 2019
Already Gone, an all-new standalone contemporary romance by New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby and USA Today bestselling author K.L. Grayson
Falling in love is easy…

New Hope, South Carolina is my home. It’s where I grew up, got into trouble, and fell in love for the first time. Scarlett Kincaid was more than the girl next door, she was my best friend, until she decided that small town life wasn’t for her. One minute she was here, and the next she was gone.

The girl I used to fish with down at the creek is now the biggest name in country music. She headlines world tours, has won four Grammys, and I haven’t seen her since. Until today when she sped through town in her fancy car. One look at her big brown eyes was all it took to stir up a whole slew of emotions. Emotions I’d long ago buried and sure as hell don’t have time for.

It’s the aftermath that’s hard…

There are two things in my life that matter. My music, and my dad. Twelve years ago, I packed a bag and chased my dream. Leaving New Hope and escaping the gossip mill was the easiest decision I ever made. I never planned to return, but my father needs me, and he always comes first. So, I did what I had to do. I cut my tour short and came home, despite having a sister who hates me, and a community that doesn’t trust me.

And then there’s Tucker Andrews.

When he propped an arm on the roof of my car, pulled down his sunglasses and flashed his police badge, I nearly swallowed my tongue. Gone is the lanky boy who used to throw rocks at me and pull my pigtails. Tucker is now a six-foot package of brawny, sexy man wrapped in more muscle than I have hit singles. Did I mention he’s a cop and a single dad?

My goal was to help Dad, and get back to my life. But what am I supposed to do when the life that used to strangle me suddenly fits like a glove, and makes me dream of things I never thought I’d have? What happens when the boy I walked away from years ago becomes one of the most important people in my life? I don’t have room for a man much less love.

Right?

Because it’s impossible to hold onto someone who’s already gone.
New Hope, South Carolina.

Population 6,129.

I know every soul represented in that number. Not a single one of them drives the shiny red Mercedes that just went speeding by.

Seventy-five in a forty-five.

I flick on my lights and press on the gas, sending my cruiser flying past the city limit sign and the godawful billboard that sits directly behind it; the one declaring New Hope home to country music superstar, Scarlett Kincaid.

It wouldn’t be a big deal if this were actually her home. It’s not. Scarlett may have been born here, but her fancy boots haven’t landed on this soil in over a decade.

All it took was one call from a hotshot music executive to send her packing before the ink was dry on her high school diploma. Scarlett flew from this town fast enough to leave our heads spinning. Before any of us could process what had happened, little Scarlett Kincaid—the same girl who used to build forts with me in my living room while my mama made us mac ‘n’ cheese—had a hit single sitting at number one on the Billboard charts.

She went from homecoming queen and most likely to marry a rich spouse in our senior yearbook, to the queen of country music.

The country loves her. Hell, the whole world loves her.

New Hope…not so much. And it’s high time that fucking sign comes down.

But first, I have to deal with this speed demon in the sexy red car.

I sound the sirens, and the car pulls to the side of the road and waits while I walk to the driver’s side window. It’s still up, the heavy tint preventing me from seeing inside. With a hand on my holster—because you never know what you’re going to walk up on—I knock on the window.

The dark glass lowers.

My first thought: this woman is absolutely gorgeous. Long, dark hair. Pouty lips. And a tiny pink dress. Her eyes are covered by oversized aviators, but I’m sure they’re as pretty as the rest of her.

My second thought: what crazy excuse is she going to come up with to try and get out of this ticket? It never ceases to amaze me the things women are willing to do to keep from getting into trouble. I’ve been offered everything from a blowjob to a pay-off to marriage.

“Do you know why I pulled you over today, ma’am?”

“Tucker?” The woman smiles, then pushes her sunglasses to the top of her head. And that’s when I see the brown eyes I’ve spent more than a decade trying to forget. “Tucker Andrews, is that you?”

I step back and square my shoulders. “You can call me Officer Andrews. Do you know why I pulled you over today, ma’am?”

“Tucker.” The woman laughs and shakes her head. “It’s me, Scarlett.”

At the mention of her name, I’m met with an onslaught of flashbacks. Running hand and hand through the neighborhood with her, laughing and playing, only to have her ignore me the second we got to school. The popular crowd versus the nerds who desperately tried to fit in. She the former, me the latter, and the pain it caused every time she acted as though she didn’t know my name. For years, I pretended it didn’t bother me because I knew that when I got home, Scarlett would meet me at the fence, and the awkwardness from the day would dissipate as though it never happened.

But it did. Day after day after day. I was a glutton for punishment. There was nothing in the world I loved more than Scarlett Kincaid, and it didn’t matter how badly she hurt me, I was always willing to forgive her.

Her smile and laugh might’ve gotten to me in middle school and high school, but I refuse to let it affect me now.

“I know who you are.”

Her smile falters.
I love both of these authors and when I found out there were writing a story together I almost couldn't contain my excitement! They so did not disappoint one bit! I would give this story a 4 stars and highly recommend to others. This is a friends to loves/second chance romance that will hopefully melt your heart like it did mine.

Scarlett left her life behind to pursue her dream and she made it to the big times, but when her father falls ill and she has to return home so she does what she has to do and cancels her tours and meetings and heads straight to her home town, but what she doesn't expect is for her past to finally catch up with her and his name is Tucker and he is not a gangling teenager anymore he is all man...

Tucker has made a life for himself and he works hard and takes care of his daughter and doesn't have much time for anything else, but when his past comes blowing into town will he be able to steer clear or will his heart not be the only heart on the line this time?

Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.

During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups. She spent countless hours in workshops, and more mornings than she can count up before the dawn so she could write before going to work. She submitted many manuscripts to agents and editors alike, but was always told no. In the summer of 2012, the self-publishing scene was new and thriving, and Kristen had one goal: to publish just one book. It was something she longed to cross off of her bucket list.

Not only did she publish one book, she’s since published close to thirty titles, many of which have hit the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists. She continues to self publish, best known for her With Me In Seattle and Boudreaux series, and is also proud to work with William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins, with the Fusion Series.

Kristen and her husband, John, make their home in her hometown of Whitefish, Montana with their two pugs and two cats.

K.L. Grayson resides in a small town outside of St. Louis, MO. She is entertained daily by her extraordinary husband, who will forever inspire every good quality she writes in a man. Her entire life rests in the palms of six dirty little hands, and when the day is over and those pint-sized cherubs have been washed and tucked into bed, you can find her typing away furiously on her computer. She has a love for alpha-males, brownies, reading, tattoos, sunglasses, and happy endings…and not particularly in that order.

Hi. I’m Micalea. Ma-call-e-uh. Weird name, I know. My mom must’ve known I was going to be odd even in the womb. I’ve written a lot of books. Like a lot. Don’t ask me how many, I don’t remember at this point. I have an unhealthy addiction to Diet Coke but I can’t seem to break the habit. I listen to way too much music and hedgehogs have taken over my life. Crazy is the word that best sums up my life, but it’s the good kind of crazy and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Savannah, Georgia
Present Day

Katie opened the door of the small corner Book Store Gone are the Pages the smell of old books and paper resonated throughout the store, and Katie smiled as she walked in. Scanning the small shop books as far back as she could see and all carefully stacked to the ceiling. She had dreamed of coming to this shop since she had first heard about it from her friend Jessica Littleton who had visited while on vacation in Savannah, Georgia.

Katie had made a special trip to Savannah to go to this book store; she had finally gotten some leave and would make the best of it. She had quickly gotten through her last surgery before leave started so that she could make the drive and spend the week in the oldest hotel in Savannah. It wasn’t a long trip, but she wanted to have some time to be able to flip through some of the old books Jessica had told her about. The hotel she was staying at was dated back from before the war and stood still; she loved the south and everything that came with it. Katie often planned to make her life the old Savannah, but life and the Army had instead made plans for her. What made this trip even better was that The Lee House, rumored as haunted.

Katie had looked forward to this trip for some time. She had recently gone through a bitter breakup after returning from her last deployment so two weeks away from the hospital and everyone she knew was just what she needed. She could be Katie and not Major Butler.
She was standing just inside the shop still mesmerized by the stacks of books both new as well as very old. Her excitement overwhelmed her thoughts; she wanted to pick up and open every one of the books. Her trance, finally broken when a voice behind a tall stack of old books sounded and an older woman of advanced years popped her head to the side of the pile.

“May I help you, my child?” the woman asked as she scuffled along the wood floor from behind the stack. Her southern twang made Katie smile.

“Oh no, ma’am I am just browsing. My friend Jessica visited here last year and told me if I made it to Savannah, this was the one place I needed to stop.”

“Well, my dear if you need anything, I will be over here in the rare book section give me a yell- I am Edith by the way, Edith Baxter. I own Gone with the Pages, so I have a keen knowledge of every single book in this shop.”
Katie’s eyes grew round as saucers when she heard Edith mention Rare Books. “May I see your rare books? Katie moved closer to the older woman; her excitement must have been apparent because Edith quickly agreed, and they headed off towards the back of the store near an old fireplace that still smelled of burnt wood and soot.

“Right this way, my dear, and when you find something you like, there are chairs right near the fireplace that you can sit and browse your choices. I will be just over here doing some binding repairs.”

Katie thanked Edith then headed right to the aisles of rare first edition books past the pile of books that appeared needed lots of love. These looked to be the pile of books Edith was pulling from to repair bindings.

Running her fingers along the binding of the books all stacked neatly in their shelves Katie found one that interested her a rare first edition of Jane Austin’s Sense and Sensibility Katie’s heart skipped, and she felt she might pass out. I must be dreaming! Carefully she pulled the book out from between the other two rare books. She held the book in both her hands and gingerly walked to the stuffed chair by the fireplace and sat down. Her heart pounding as she opened the hardcover to reveal the beautiful yellowing of the pages and
the smell of old paper enveloped her senses.

Settling into the chair, she flipped through the brittle pages as carefully as she could. The condition of the book is pristine and would go great with my first edition of GWTW. I could spend hours, no days in this shop and never go through all these books. Jess was right; this is a gold mine of book finds. I could die right now and would die with a smile.

Katie continued to thumb through the pages when the sound of an old coo-coo clock sounded. Looking down at her watch, she realized it was getting close to closing time. She had noticed on the glass on the front door that closing time at five o’clock, and it was five now.
Katie got up, approached a small counter in the middle of the store where Edith was still working on the binding of some of the books. Placing the book on the table, “I would like to get this one ma’am how much is it?”

Edith looked up from her work and picked up the book. “Oh, this is one of my favorites, my dear. Are you a lover of romance books?”

“Oh yes, ma’am. But I do love all the classics, and when I saw this one, it spoke to me.”

“Well then my dear, you must see more of our collection. I have many many rare books. This one, for you dear, I will make you a deal. If you promise to come back tomorrow and let me show you more of my collection, you may have the book for two-hundred dollars.”

Katie’s eyes grew round, and the shriek she had been holding in since she had walked through the glass door finally overwhelmed her, and she let out a howl of excitement.

“Its a deal. I will be here first thing in the morning.”

“Perfect, I will have some of my better finds ready for you to gander through.” Edith wrapped the book in brown paper and placed it in a bag for Katie to carry back to her room.

Grabbing the bag, Katie couldn’t help but be excited, but as she opened the door to leave her stomach growled and told her it was time to eat. As she walked out, she gave Edith a wave and stepped out into the fresh Savannah evening air. It was April in Savannah.

There is no way in hell she’s here.
My family isn’t that cruel. Right?
From my car, I try to gauge the number of bodies in my parents’ house through the windows. Ugh, I can’t see shit.
She can’t possibly be at family dinner. My family loves Harper, but they wouldn’t invite her, not after I called my mom the other day, telling her to put her matchmaking skills to rest. She just chuckled but reassured me she knew what she was doing. Whatever the hell that means.
I was very adamant about leaving Harper alone. The Knightlys can be too much at times, and I’m sure we’re the last thing she needs right when she’s trying to settle back into town.
Resigning myself to the inevitable, I retrieve my keys from the ignition and make my way to the front door. Hand on the doorknob, I take a deep breath and walk into the house I grew up in. The warm walls and carefully hung family pictures greet me first, followed by my family’s raucous laughter emanating from the back of the house.
I remove my shoes and hang my suit jacket on the coat hanger by the front door before cautiously making my way down the long hallway to the connected kitchen and large dining room. Ren, Griffin’s girlfriend, is the first to spot me. She gives me a small smile and a little wave. The rest of the family is scattered around the kitchen as usual, getting in my parents’ way as they try to finish up the dinner prep.
Griffin sees me next. “Ah, you finally decided to join us.” He checks his watch. “I think that was eight minutes in the car. Who had eight minutes?”
Reid raises his hand and hops off the counter, grabbing a bowl from the center of the table and pocketing the wad of cash inside. “I know him too well.” Reid pats me on the back and slips me a one-dollar bill. “Here, this is for you. Thanks for taking eight minutes to prepare yourself to come in the house. Daddy is going to buy a new pair of jeans.” He pats his pockets.
Ignoring everyone and their stupid bet, I pop the fridge door open and grab a water. Reid joins me, sticking his head in the fridge so I’m forced to look at him. “Aren’t you going to ask?”
“Ask what?” I grit out.
“If she’s here. I know that’s why you were hanging out in your car, debating if you should come in or not.”
My skin prickles, and I brace myself for the answer as I shut the fridge door. “Is she here?” I hiss.
Slowly, Reid smiles and nods. “Yup, she’s in the bathroom.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” I angrily squeeze my water bottle, nearly popping the top off. “Why? Why is she here?”
Reid shrugs. “I don’t know, maybe because she wants to be here.”
“Who invited her? Was it Mom?” I don’t wait for an answer. Instead, I walk over to the culprit, who’s hovering over the stove, stirring a huge pot of chili.
“Oh, hey, sweetie. Cornbread is in the oven, honey is in the crock, and I also got tortilla chips because I know how much you like crumbling them in your chili.”
“Mom, why did you invite her? I told you to leave her alone, to leave us alone.”
“What are you talking about?” My mom looks me up and down and then goes back to the chili.
“Harper. I asked you not to invite Harper.”
The bathroom door opens, and Jen pops out, rubbing her hands together. “Did he come in yet?” Her eyes light up as she spots me. “What time was it?”
“Eight minutes. Reid won.”
Disappointed, she snaps her fingers. “Damn, I for sure thought I was going to win.”
Confused, I turn back to my mom. “Harper isn’t here?”
“No, of course not. I wouldn’t invite her so early. She needs time to settle. What made you think she was here?”
I whip around to find Reid leaning against the kitchen wall, arms crossed and with a giant grin on his face. I point at him. “You better run, because I’m going to fucking kill you.”
Like a bolt of lightning, he takes off, and I chase after him, nothing but pure murder on my mind.

That Forever Girl by Meghan Quinn is emotional and funny and everything in-between. Grab your tissues because you may need a couple for this one. Rogan once had the girl of his dreams, but that ended and he never expected to see her again. Harper is back though and his family wants to meddle.

I thoroughly enjoyed these characters and the way the story unfolded. You are given both past and present so that you see the whole picture. With an intriguing story, great plot, and characters you both root for and want to slap, I highly recommend this book to everyone. 4.5 stars and you need to one-click today!
This is the second book in the Getting Lucky series but can be read as a standalone, although I would recommend reading That Second Chance because it was pretty fantastic! I would give this book a 4 stars and highly recommend to others.

Rogan had a forever girl once upon a time but he pushed her away, but years last he finds himself face to face with the one that got away Harper and she is back in there hometown, but can the amend the past mistakes or will there never be a forever for them?

I absolutely loved this book!!

Back in Port Snow, we are introduced to Rogan Knightly, second oldest brother in the Knightly family. Now that their oldest brother has found someone the rest of the Knightly brothers are wondering if their curse is broken.

Rogan is as gruff as ever, closed off from everyone. But Harper Sanders, his high school sweetheart and ex-fiance, is back in town. And the Knightly family is determined to meddle and push them together.

The way this story was told was fantastic, it unfurled through flashes of present and past. The heartache, oh the heartache, there were moments of sadness, devastation, forgiveness, love and most of all hope.

Let me just tell you I cried at the initials MFG.

You definitely want to one click this book now. You will not be disappointed.
Oh my God! All the feels! In this sequel to That Second Chance, Meghan Quinn gives us Rogan's story.

Harper and Rogan were high school sweethearts. In college, something happened that not only broke them up, but changed their lives forever. Now, years later, Harper is back in town. Can they get over the past and find each other again?

I loved this book! I think Rogan is a great character to read, and his history with Harper was intriguing. One click this today!
