I sped through this book like I was in a race or something! Wonderful read.

Wes is a bodyguard assigned to protect Juliette, who wants nothing of it, him, or her mafia father's business. But tensions are high with a rival family, so Wes it is.

The attraction is instant and palpable. However, Wes knows that Juliette's father will literally kill him if he touches her. So he does his best to keep his distance while protecting her.

This will they won't they tension keeps the reading flowing and on a quick pace. I won't tell you if they do or how it ends, but I can promise you will be entertained to the very last page!

Crooked by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward was a solid 4-star read for me! I went in expecting a classic bodyguard romance, but it completely surprised me in the best way. The twist? I truly did not see it coming—and it elevated the entire story.

Wes… wow. Hunky, protective, and irresistible, yet bound by duty. Watching him try (and fail) to keep things strictly professional with Juliette made the tension that much better. And Juliette—strong, independent, and trying to escape the shadow of her mob boss father—was such a compelling heroine. Their push-and-pull dynamic, mixed with forced proximity, made for some seriously addictive reading.

What really stood out was how the story balanced romance, danger, and that unexpected twist that shifts everything. If you love a steamy, high-stakes romance with great banter and a satisfying HEA, this one is definitely worth picking up.
