It’s been 6 years since he last stepped foot in Riverbend, and now he’s back to finalize his grandmother’s will. Everything seems cut and dry with minimal stipulations – but ones that put him back on the path with his only love, Kandace. But Kandace has kept a secret.
So what happens? You’ll have to one-click. This was a great, quick read, that held all the elements I look for: a meddling grandmother, a strong, independent heroine, a second chance whirlwind of a romance, with plenty of steam and minimal angst. Definitely recommend this for a quick summertime read.
This author has to be one of my fave go-to authors for those feel good stories.
This story is all about Dax and Kandace. These two were young lovers who go their separate ways. Kandace is a small-town girl and Dax was meant for the city life. His visits home to his grandparents’ house during the summers growing up helped him develop a strong character. But once high school was over, Dax stayed in the big city to create the life his parents wanted for him. When his grandmother passes and leaves a will with a stipulation, Dax finds his way back home to discover that, perhaps, his heart was always meant to be with Kandace.
This story was easy to read. It was sweet. Dax and Kandace got their second chance with the help of their little girl, Molly, and that matchmaker, Grandma Ruth.
But, getting to a HEA wasn’t always rainbows and roses. Reading their journey there was well worth the time spent in the pages of this one.
