“This book has easily been my favorite for this year. Shana has a way of bringing out the tears from me but also putting smiles and feeling happy for the characters.” -A Bibliophile's World

In my current state, between ignoring and hanging on every word, I admit that’s what he is to me too. A shield between the hurt and me. I know exactly what he means. When I am around him, I forget to hurt, and it isn’t fair because he’s hurting too. But I can’t help it. No one warned me about him either. “Julian.” “It’s like,” he whispers. “Like and attraction doesn’t mean love.” What did mean love?

Shana Vanterpool has become one of my favorite authors and I love reading her work. Her latest release, Under the Peaches, is my favorite to date. #ilovejulien

Julien is a teacher that all of the girls are crushing on. Kaelyn is just trying to get through school and graduate. She is invisible by everyone except the bullies. Her life up to this point has been difficult and things are about to get worse before they get better. Julien wants to save her, but can he? Will they find something in each other that goes beyond the hallowed halls of the school?

I warn you that there are a couple of places where you will need tissues. As with many of Shana's books, this one pulls at the emotional heartstrings and makes my anxiety soar - in a good way. One of the things that I loved about the book is the way the author tackled a tough subject. She didn't shy away from it, and if anything it is a punch to the gut. Sadly, it is something that has happened in our schools and out in public. I applaud her for writing this the way she did.

The characters are well written and are perfectly imperfect. Mr. Ean/Julien is an alpha male that isn't your typical alpha male. He wants to protect what's his and is willing to fight the world for it, but he has his flaws too. It is in his flaws that he becomes everything Kaelyn needs and more. It's also what makes him a great book boyfriend. I loved this book and Julien is probably my favorite male character from this author. It is a must read. 5 stars and one click today!

I can't wait for the next book in this series!

I have to say every time I read another book by this author I can tell how much she is growing and perfecting her writing style, and her stories as a whole. I haven't quite been disappointed with anything she has written but each book you can see the passion grow, the writing grow.. and I am thankful to have been apart of her journey thus far. I would give this book a 4 stars and highly recommend to others. Student Teacher romances have become one of my favorites to read..maybe its because its like the forbidden fruit? Or there is so much mystery as to what will happen or anticipation of getting caught? I am not sure.. what I am sure of is this book had much more depth too it than just a simple romance. It will touch on some very sensitive subjects, but I felt this author portrayed the story so well that I got caught up in it that I felt what these characters were feeling... which of course is what we all want when we dive into the fantasy world right!?

Kaelyn hasn't had the easiest life, she hasn't known what love is.. she doesn't have family and she doesn't have friends.. but when she befriends a teacher Julian she won't know what hit her...

Julian moved is life for a woman, the same woman he has now cut ties with... when he befriends a student Kaelyn what will happen when he becomes her protector...her friend.. her lover?

Will they be able to get past the obstacle of the teacher/student relationship being friendly to romantic?? Can Kaelyn moved past her grief and devastation of the crap life she was handed?

Get to one clicking to see what happens in this whirlwind romance.

Keep Kicking Butt Shana because I will always be there to read and review your amazing stories, and I can't wait to see you grow even more! I have a feeling this story is not done being told so I hope and pray for more to come soon! Thanks for another great ride and look forward to so much more in the future!

As far as student teacher romances go, this is probably one of the best ones I've read to date.

Honestly, it could have had more steam but would be a great New Adult title. Shana tethered right on the edge of that cusp with this one.

Kaelyn has a rough life. She needs someone to save her, to prove that there is good in the world. Somehow she catches Julian's eye. He sees the woman under the surface and wants to rescue her.

Lines get blurred and crossed. Will then survive the fall out?

One click to find out.
I love being able to read authors when they start out on their endeavor. It gives me a chance to watch them grow. And has Shana grown since her first book.

I absolutely could not put this book down, even though real life dictated that I do. This book thoroughly encapsulated every emotional gamut. I felt everything the main character did.

Kaelyn has been dealt a raw deal. She feels lost and alone and feeling like she is deserving of every bad thing that happens to her. No one has ever been around to help her or support her. But all of the changes when a teacher finally opens their eyes.

Mr Ean, Julian Ean, the young 24 year old math teacher wants to help Kaelyn. To make her realize she is more than what her circumstances were.

The problem, they didn't mean to get attached. They didn't mean to have true feelings for one another.

You really need to one click this book now.

SWEET RIVALRY - RDL banner      sweetriv
Ryder Rodgers had a plan.

He was going to stride into the conference room, do the required song and dance over the next five days, and win the biggest contract of his career. But when he walked in and heard the voice of one of his competitors, all his plans were shot to hell.

Harper Denton. She was always on top. In college. First in their class. Always using every advantage to edge him out to win the coveted positions. The only one who could beat him. His academic rival. More like a constant thorn in his side. And his ego’s.

When he heard her voice, he was brought back to years before. To the bitter taste of being second best. But the woman who meets his gaze is nothing like the drab wallflower he used to know. Hell no. She was all woman now: curves, confidence, and staggering sex appeal. And no doubt, still brilliant.

The fact that she’s gorgeous and bright won’t distract him. This time, Ryder’s determined to be the one on top. But not if Harper can help it.

He takes a step toward me then hesitates, but before I can process anything else, his lips are on mine. And not just on mine––not just a brush of lips against lips—but I’m talking all in. Hands on my cheeks, tongue licking between my lips, body pressed against mine, groan in the back of his throat, type of all in. I don’t react at first. I’m stunned. Flabbergasted, my mind reeling from the anger to the surprise to now this without any warning at all. This is Ryder. My rival. My supporter. My crush. The thoughts flicker that this is what I’ve wanted. But they soon shift to panic. To insecurity I don’t kiss well enough. That this is all a joke and I’m the butt of it. But then I feel. Everything. All at once. And I know this is real. It’s like I can’t catch my breath and have too much air all at the same time. My body is on fire. And not just from his touch but from that burn deep inside that feels like it’s exploding and imploding all at once. So this is what it feels like to really be kissed. It’s a fleeting thought before the sensations, the moment, the emotions, consume me whole. His hands move my face to change the angle of the kiss. His fingertips on the line of my jaw singe my skin. His lips move expertly against mine, and all I can do is feel. All I can do is want. Thinking isn’t an option. The anger from before has morphed to want. The adrenaline has recharged with desire. There is no rivalry. There is no graduation ceremony tomorrow I’m missing to catch my flight. There is no panic over if I’ll ever see him again. It’s just him. And me. The scent of his cologne in my nose. The heat of his body against mine. The taste of hunger in his kiss.

Book Blitz and Giveaway: The Game Begins by Victoria Danann

The Game Begins
Victoria Danann
Publication date: February 27th 2017
Genres: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Young Adult

When it came to the attention of the old ones that their creations, the Earth gods, had been playing games at the expense of humankind for millennia, they put a stop to it. But the rebellious gods were far too addicted to their games to give them up. After several summit meetings, they voted to use their own children as players and locate the playing field in the most treacherous environment in the known universe. High school.
To make it even more interesting, they would strip their children of their memories and withhold the rules of the game. The players believed they were ordinary kids until they were transferred to R. Caine High School. When odd things begin to happen, the players gradually realize they have special gifts or attributes. But that doesn’t mean they can’t die.

EXCERPT:
My name is Ever Moore.
I know. It makes me wince every time I say it. When I’m eighteen, I plan to have it legally changed to something that doesn’t make people laugh. But right now I’m stuck.
My dad thinks puns are the highest form of humor. He calls it ‘word play’. That’s right. I’m the spawn of nerds. My dad creates video games. My mother is an ethics professor at UCLA who thinks the battle between good and evil begins at home.
If you want to know just how weird it can get at the Thanksgiving table, I can go one better. My grandfather was a big deal rock star in the seventies. You wouldn’t know the name of the band. So there’s no point in name dropping. After a visit, he exits with a two-finger peace salute like all the other well-adjusted hippie grandparents, but he doesn’t say, “Peace.”
He says, “Rock steady.”
Ugh!
My family is big on manners. They’re too strict to let me say what I think, especially about Buzz’s love life. My grandfather doesn’t want to be called Grandpa or Grandad or Gramps or anything close to normal. Oh no. He wants to be called ‘Buzz’. I have no idea why. That is not his name.
Anyway, the best protest I can mount is rolling my eyes. I keep trying to get his attention and roll my eyes back further into my head when he does the ‘rock steady’ thing, but he will not be deterred.
Anyway I was leading a completely typical and deliciously angsty teenage life in Austin, Texas when my parents were suddenly offered jobs in the LA area at the same time. It was weird, but weird is part of my normal. Always has been.
Since my grandad, the rocker, still lives in LA with the latest girlfriend who’s barely legal – she’s two years older than I am and her name is Charmin, yes, like the toilet paper. If that was my name, I’d have the decency to go by something like Charm, which would really be making lemonade from lemmons. But not Charmin. I don’t think she’s bright enough to understand what people are thinking whenever they say her name. Anyway, with the jobs and the fact that ‘Buzz’ lives there, moving seemed like a good idea.
To them.
