Josiah Foxglove is given a second chance when he takes over his family’s spread in the shadow of the Snowy Range. A veteran of the Gulf War, he came back broken in body and spirit.

Marcus Colton buried his long-time lover and best friend three years ago. Lonely and still grieving, Marcus finds solace in protecting Petilune, a pretty girl with learning difficulties, who will surely become a victim of abuse and neglect without his help. But that doesn’t help him get through the long, dark nights.

When violence wracks the small community of Centurion, WY, it’s easy to place blame on Petilune's mysterious new boyfriend, Ojibwe teen Kit Golden Eagle. It looks open and shut, but for Josiah and Marcus the facts simply don’t add up.

Something’s rotten in Centurion, something that smacks of a hate crime…

This is the first time I've listened/read anything by Nya Rawlyns and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. After a bit of a rough and slow start at the beginning of the book, I found myself listening more intently and I didn't want to stop. I grumbled when I had to hit pause because I needed to know what happened next. This more than an MM romance. It's about letting go, moving on, finding a new path and love along with it. It has suspense, funny moments, and so much more. Let's break it down.

Story - 4.5 stars
I honestly wasn't sure what to expect when I began listening to this book. It was a little slow and I couldn't decide if I would like it or not, but I kept listening and really started to like the story and all of the subplots. There is a lot more to this story than meets the eye. Not only are the two main characters trying to figure out life in a small town, but they realize that they have feelings for each other. And that isn't everything. There are other forces at work in the town that leads to the police being called in to investigate. I really can't say much more without giving the plot away. The characters were brilliantly flawed and more like real life men than most characters you see in a book, which makes everything more real. At times the story was intense and I was desperate to know what happened. After a couple of chapters, the story picked up steam and didn't slow down. 4.5 stars.

Narration - 4.5 stars
Nick J. Russo transformed and really brought out the nuances of this story. He was able to breathe life into each character and make them different, and I think part of my enjoyment of the story might have been his interpretation of it. There was a time or two where he dropped character, but it hardly ever happened and I barely noticed. His voice was steady and his pace was perfect. I didn't struggle with his tempo or his pronunciations. I'd love to hear more of his narrations. 4.5 stars.

Overall - 4.5 stars
All in all, the story was great, the narrator enhanced it with his reading, and I thoroughly enjoyed it all. The story incorporates a lot of different elements making it fresh and intriguing, and the characters weren't your typically well-built book boyfriends. They were real. 4.5 stars.

Paige
I was weak.
After everything I’d been through, I’d grown weaker, not stronger. But I would change that. This was the year I’d lose myself, even if this meant losing Caleb—my rock. He was too close to the enemy, too close to do what needed to be done.
Alex Connor needed to suffer. It was the only way to stop him.
So, whatever it took, I would make him suffer and I would make him pay.

Caleb

There was only one thing I’d ever really wanted in life. My freedom. A sense of hope in a world where disappointment didn’t come after. A life where Alex Connor didn’t have control. It’d been the least possible thing in my life until now. But the freedom I’d wanted at first was nothing like the air I wanted to breathe with her. The moment I’d met Paige, she’d become my center, the core of my existence.
Although, when everything was said and done, I would never get to have my freedom. I would never get to revel in hope. I would become off-center, and I would fade.

Some years ago, Casey rediscovered her passion for writing and hasn’t stopped writing since. Her favorite genre is romance with a little angst, which is why she writes sexy, funny, sweet, and emotional stories that are a bit more in depth, but so much fun to read.

Casey has a ridiculously short attention span and loves her coffee and tea without sugar and milk. Apart from reading or writing, she loves to snowboard, even when she’s catching an edge and face-planting in the snow. She absolutely loves it!

You are cordially invited to the Sin Bin wedding of the year—kilts required, undergarments optional.

Taine Afoa has faced opponents on the rugby pitch without an ounce of fear. He hopes to find the same courage when asking the love of his life to marry him. First, though, he has to ask Freddie’s fathers for their blessing.

If Taine survives, popping the question should be a breeze.

Freddie Whittle knows Taine has something up his sleeve. A yes forms on his lips before the question is even asked. But can they survive the madness of friends and family, all wanting to help plan their wedding?

As their May-December romance tumbles into happily ever after, one surprise after the other brings them more joy than they ever imagined possible.

The short story Haka Ever After is the seventh (and last) book in Dahlia Donovan's international bestselling gay romance series, The Sin Bin. Each one features hot rugby players and the men who steal their hearts.

This is the perfect ending to an amazing series. The cast of characters from the Sin Bin series is back to celebrate the wedding of Freddie and Taine, and it includes Taine asking permission. Will their friends be the one planning the wedding? How are they going to make this work since they each have their own traditions? You will definitely have to read this one to find out.

I absolutely loved this series and this story was the cherry on top and wrapped everything up perfectly. It is a quick read, but that in no way distracts from the story. I kind of wish it was longer, but that's only because I've fallen in love with these characters and don't want to let them go. I highly suggest you one click this one today. 5 stars!
