Release Blitz: Screwdriver by Kiru Taye

Screwdriver
Kiru Taye
(A Royal House of Saene Spinoff)
Publication date: September 30th 2022
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

For most of her adult life, boss-lady Oumou has wanted to leave her hometown in pursuit of big-city fame. All her closest friends are doing bigger and brighter things elsewhere; one is even dating a prince. However, her plans to leave small-town Bali are put on hold when the pandemic hits. At least there are some positives. She’s enduring lockdown with her friend, Yahya, who is her exact opposite in personality. But he’s sexy, easy on the eyes, and cleans up his messes. Opposites attract, right?

Mechanic Yahya has two obsessions—fixing damaged cars and his hometown of Bali. He has no desire for fame or fortune. Nevertheless, since flamboyant Oumou set up shop right across the road from his auto garage, he’s developed a new obsession with her. Each day at work, he glimpses her glorious smile and the temptation for her spirals. But why bother? She won’t even consider him—someone she labels as dull—and they are just too different to work.

Then Yahya and Oumou are stuck together as quarantine buddies, and their attraction combusts in the confines of the apartment. Soon the man so skilled at unscrewing her wheel-nut becomes the sexy hunk satisfying her every fantasy. But what happens when reality kicks in the door and their differences threaten to tear them apart?

A hulking shadow appeared at her window, and a tapping sound made her jerk. “Oumou, are you okay?”

How did they know her name?

Silly question. Anyone who knew her would recognise the bright yellow truck. Uncle Ngarta had helped to secure a good deal with one of his car-dealer clients. They’d even resprayed the vehicle a yellow colour over the original dull white. The contrast of the black radiator grille, front and back bumpers and door handles against the yellow made the vehicle catch the eye and stand out. This was great, considering there were Mou Supermarket logo decals over the side panels and tailgate, which helped to build brand awareness for the store she owned.

However, the deep baritone from the person outside her vehicle sounded familiar.

The pattern of her beating heart changed again, and it had nothing to do with fear. Lifting her phone, she tapped the flashlight app, illuminating the face peering through the window. “Yahya?”

It was him—the close-cut hair on his head, the dark stubble on his chin, the taupe-toned skin, and the full lips she’d shamelessly dreamt about kissing once too often. His penetrating black eyes held hers, and she forgot everything else.

Relief and unexpected excitement flushed through her. Her breath caught, and she gulped, rubbing her thighs together, heat flaring over her skin. Her panties dampened along with her palms and behind her knees. Her mouth dried, and she licked her lips.

“Are you okay?” Something in his deep voice sounded as if he knew his effect on her body, which snapped her out of the spell of lust.

Ridiculous. Her cheeks heated, and she nodded. She turned off the engine, tugging the door handle to open it. He stepped away as she climbed out.

“I have a puncture and was trying to call your garage for someone to come out and help me change it.” She held up the phone in her hand.

He pulled a small pen torch out of his button-down shirt pocket and flashed it at the wheels on this side. “O m wè. Adama, pran yon gade nan sa a.” Oh, I see. Adama, take a look at this.

His colleague, who wore a t-shirt with the garage logo over a pair of jeans, came around from the other side.

“Bon sware,” he greeted before turning his attention to the damaged rubber wheel.

The men conversed briefly in rapid-fire Pidgin French. Oumou could understand it, but she wasn’t as fluent. She’d been forced to learn it as a teenager because she’d only spoken English and Hausa in Nigeria. Meanwhile, people in Bali chatted using a combination of broken French and regional dialects.

“Adama will handle it.” Yahya turned, heading towards his car. “Come with me.”

For a moment, his physique snagged her attention—the expanse of the blue long-sleeved cotton shirt across his back tucked in at the hips, the snug dark denim around his tight bubble butt, the stretch of his muscular legs with each lithe stride and the tan Timbs on his feet.

Damn. Yahya was eye candy. She wouldn’t mind doing more than looking. Her mouth watered, and she swallowed. Shame he would never consider her as a friend with benefits.

Release Boost: The Secret Roommate by Sara Ney

Release Date: October 4

All I need is a place to hide for a few weeks.

The paparazzi were on my ass 24/7 and I needed a bit of breathing room—an escape from the madness—before the media frenzy begins.

Sure, I could have gone to a secluded cabin in the woods—but I didn’t want to be bored out of my mind. I’d seen enough wide open spaces as a kid from Texas to last me a lifetime.

So instead, I let my agent hook me up with a modest house in the burbs where we didn’t think anyone would find me hiding in plain sight.

I’d have a roommate; but supposedly, she was going to give me space. Stay out of my way and respect my boundaries. According to my agent, I wouldn’t hear a peep from her.

Wrong. He was wrong about everything and now my life was never going to be the same.

Duke Colter is making a huge football career change and needs a place to hide out until the official announcement is made. His agent, Eli, finds him a place in a little suburb outside of Chicago, staying with kindergarten teacher Josephine “Posey” Kettner.

These two characters are total opposites in every way, yet a perfect match. Their witty banter is off the charts and sometimes cheeky. I really enjoyed this story. It had excellent humor, a great story line that progressed nicely, and plenty of hot and heavy moments (if ya’ catch my drift). Duke often seemed spoiled  and accustomed to having whatever he wants and watching Posie take him down a few pegs was entertaining. Duke is the protector and Posey keeps him grounded. Definitely one-click this today – you will not be disappointed.

Release Blitz: Final Proposal by K. Bromberg

Final Proposal by K. Bromberg is now live!

Fall in love with billionaire, Fordham Sharpe, and sassy businesswoman, Ellery Sinclair, in this all-new wrong place at the right time, forced proximity, office romance by New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg.

One stormy night.

One hotel bar full of stranded travelers.

One available chair next to a charming, mysterious, and sexy-as-hell man.

There was something about him and our conversation that made me feel alive. That made me feel heard. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘢 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘦.

When our paths crossed again, I never expected the stranger to be Fordham Sharpe, one-third of the sinfully rich and ridiculously successful Sharpe International Network brothers. Nor did I expect we’d become partners—𝘧𝘪𝘧𝘵𝘺-𝘧𝘪𝘧𝘵𝘺in a hotel transformation that dreams were made of.

𝘔𝘺 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘸𝘢𝘺.

To him, I was off limits. He was my venture partner, and we knew better than to mix business with pleasure. But we had one thing in common—we were both hiding. From our pasts. From unresolved family conflicts. From what really mattered—our hearts.

But as each day passed, our mutual attraction became harder to resist.

We agreed to the partnership to prove our worth to our families, but perhaps we’d only prove our need for something else. 𝘌𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.

Ford is a sweetheart and the even-tempered of the three triplets. Because he isn't as "out there" as his brothers, or like a "twin" to one of his parents, a book about his father's life was written that left him sounding, in his eyes, a tad boring. 'Just Ford' but, as he will find out, he isn't "just" Ford to those who are important (family). But, if it weren't for that particular book, and a specific description of Ford, then this book probably wouldn't be what it is; and he would definitely never have met Ellery (Celery Ellery - lol).

This book had everything! It had the perfect amount of angst, steam, love, patience, family drama (and not so much family drama). And Elle and Ford! It was a wonderful read. Ford and Elle were perfect! Their banter, their determination, their love was just what each needed. I enjoyed seeing Ford shine and see he truly had the love and support of his two other brothers. This story is one perfectly wrapped up package of delight and a true one-click.

I was so happy to finally have our third triplet’s book – Fordham Sharpe.

Ford is tenderhearted and the peacekeeper of his family. So, when a book about his father comes out, what’s in it and more importantly, what’s not in it, leaves him rattled. Needing space, Ford finds himself stuck at hotel, due to a storm, where he meets Elle (Ellery). Elle, too, is seeking isolation to clear her head. Never expecting to see the other again, Both Elle and Ford make changes in their lives that end up bringing them back together.

This book had all the elements I look for – angst, steam, love, patience…. Gah! It was everything. Their banter was fantastic foreplay, and the emotional depth made it feel so real that you understood every little thing the character went through, thought or felt. I loved seeing the camaraderie, love and support between Ford and his two other brothers. This book absolutely wrapped up this series perfectly. Definitely one-click this book today.

Blog Tour: Falling for the Bachelor by Amy Alves

Falling for the Bachelor, an all-new brother’s best friend small town romantic comedy full of heat and laughs from bestselling author Amy Alves is available now!

I'm cursed. Unlucky in love. So pretending to fall in love with my best friend's sister couldn't possibly make it worse.
My avoidance of relationships has two neighboring towns joining forces to find me a girlfriend—one I don’t want.
So when they name me the bachelor in their charity dating show, I have two options: suffer the consequences of bailing or accept help from my best friend’s little sister.
I chose the latter.
Because Olivia Vaughn has a plan.
She suggests a ringer—someone on the inside…someone I trust, that I can choose at the end of the show.
A fake contestant.
It’s crazy. Risky. And undeniably tempting.

We’d have to touch, flirt, kiss.
I could pull her close…that long, auburn hair wrapped up in my fist as I whisper all the dirty thoughts I’ve ever had about her.

Pretending to fall for her may be more dangerous than letting our meddlesome town play matchmaker.
Because if this backfires, it might cost me my best friend, disappoint our families, and reignite feelings for the feisty, hazel-eyed beauty I grew up with.
So while I can’t—shouldn’t—pretend to fall in love with Olivia, I do.
With the hope that fake girlfriends are curse-proof.

Falling for the Bachelor is a steamy, brother's best friend, fake relationship, friends-to-lovers, small town, standalone romantic comedy. It contains plenty of steamy scenes, laughs, and an HEA.

Sawyer Fletcher - smart, funny, sexy, brother's bestfriend, childhood crush, boy next door, and down on his luck when it comes to the dating world.

Olivia - cute, funny, overprotected, friend-s younger sister, and just coming out of a horrible mistake of a marriage with the town "hero".

What do these two have in common? They both dislike the idea of the local society trying to put on another bachelor show to find love for Sawyer. So, Olivia hatches a plan with him to enter herself as one of the contestants to fake a relationship.

What ensues is a fun read with many twists this couple was not expecting. Especially when they start to catch feelings for one another and are afraid to admit it until it is almost too late.

I enjoyed this one. This author wrote a witty story that made me literally laugh out loud several times. And, a few times I wanted to knock Sawyer upside his head. But overall, it was a great story, well-written, with loveable characters that any fan of this genre would enjoy.

This is what every rom-com should be. Equal parts swoony and spicy, peppered with hijinks and hilarity.

Veterinarian, Sawyer Fletcher, seems unlucky in love. He just wants to open his new practice and be left alone. But the town of Vaughn have him selected to be their new Bachelor in LoveVine.. think The Bachelor but in a small town scale. Sawyer’s best friend’s little sister, Olivia, has just moved home and is ready to move on from her disastrous marriage when she agrees to help Sawyer and be his “fake” main girl in the contest. Only, the more time they spend together, the more they actually really like each other.

Sawyer is the perfect gentleman (with perfect dirty talk) that has shitty luck. Anything that can go wrong on a date, will go wrong. Olivia is hoping that her help will break his cycle of bad luck. I loved these two main characters. Olivia has learned what she wants and what she deserves and she is not afraid to take it. Sawyer seems hesitant due to past dating escapades. Throw in nosey townsfolks, meddlesome mothers, and protective brothers and you have the perfect recipe for a fantastic book. I definitely recommend this book and hope that the next one that comes out is one of Olivia’s brothers… either Jaxson or Brody.

I’m allowed to fantasize about my brother’s best friend as long as I don’t act on those fantasies. I’m supposed to look like I’m falling in love with him, even if it’s all a lie. I’m his ringer—the fake contestant acting as his relationship safety net—not his real girlfriend. Maybe if I keep repeating that, it’ll sink in.
Sawyer lets himself in the back door as I’m cutting the brownies into squares. Glancing behind me, I take him in. Grey slacks stretch against his thick upper thighs, a belt accentuating his narrow hips, and a crisp white shirt with the cuffs rolled up, roped forearms on display. Dressed-up Sawyer looks good. Really good.
His hair doesn’t appear to have any product but still matches his usual style, longer on the top, falling in soft waves to his brows. The sides and back are a bit shorter but it curls slightly around his ears and the nape of his neck. Sawyer oozes that dreamy boy-next-door vibe. It makes me want to sneak through his window in the middle of the night and surprise him.
“Hey, handsome. All ready for our first date?” I hold up the tray of chocolatey goodness. “Want some sugar to give you a boost for tonight?”
He raises his eyebrows, taking a peek into the pan. “Nah, I shouldn’t. They smell great though.”
I hold up a square with a glare, using it to point at him. “Liar. You don’t even like chocolate. That was a test to see if you were ready for your LoveVine setup tonight. Just be yourself, Sawyer. You are not relationship cursed. All you have to do is get through some conversation, dinner, and whatever couples activity the producers arranged. You've got this.”
He grins and reaches for my face. I freeze when his thumb strokes across my bottom lip. I study his face as he brings his finger under my chin and his thumb moves to the center of my lip, pulling it down. Those midnight eyes are locked on my mouth, and then he licks his own bottom lip.
I inhale sharply, my whole body heating up.
“I don’t know when I last felt like myself on a date, Liv,” he admits.
Against all thought—all reason—my tongue pops out and swipes across his thumb. He takes a step closer, his thumb pulling my lip farther down, as a rough sound leaves his throat.
Oh my god. Was that a groan?
Sawyer releases my face suddenly and steps back.
My thighs rub together, trying to ease the ache—the throbbing need that creeps up every time we get close. That first night of the reality matchmaking show, when his hand was on my back, fingers in my hair, lips at my ear, I almost collapsed against him with a whimper of desperation.
He was just pretending, Liv!
Slowly he sucks his thumb into his mouth. “You had some chocolate.”
I lean against the counter, hands gripping the edge, not sure if my legs will give out or if I’ll grab another brownie and smear it all over my body to get the same treatment.
