He was someone who belonged in my wildest fantasies instead of a rest stop in the middle of Nebraska.

A sexy, cocky, Australian named Chance was the last person I expected to run into on my cross-country drive.

A knock at the door made me jump.

With a huff, I got out of bed and stood on my tiptoes to look out the peephole. Why were those things always so high on the door anyway? I was surprised to find no one standing on the other side. Maybe I’d imagined it.

Another knock.

I flicked on the lights. The sound wasn’t coming from the entrance door. It was coming from an interior door I hadn’t even noticed before.

Chance’s door.

I unfastened the top lock and cracked it open just enough so I could see what he wanted. And there he stood.

Shirtless.

Wearing only dark gray boxer briefs that hugged him like a second skin.

It took a minute to understand what he was doing there, even though he was holding up a toothbrush in question.

“I thought we had established I wasn’t a serial killer already.”

I opened the door wider.

He smiled.

Oh lord. Stop that. Right now.

“I must have left my toothpaste in my saddlebag in the car.”

I swallowed hard. “Uh huh.”

He cocked his head to the side, and his brows dipped in. “Can I borrow yours?”

“Oh. Yeah, sure.”

He walked past me and let himself into my bathroom. I waited at the door.

“You got an awful lot of girly crap in here for one night,” he said with a jumbled mouth full of toothpaste from the bathroom. “Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia.”

He was reading my Estee Lauder perfume bottle.

I heard him rinse and spit. Then there was a gargling sound. He used my mouthwash, too. Sure, help yourself.

He walked out and flicked off the bathroom light. “Is tuberose a rose?”

I shook my head, still confused by the whole situation going on.

“That’s why,” he murmured.

“Why what?”

“I couldn’t figure out what you smelled like all day. Not sure I ever smelled a Tuberose before.” He shrugged and walked back into his room but not before turning back. “Even those little black lacy underwear smell like tuberose.”

My eyes bulged. I’d taken off my bra and panties and left them on the bathroom counter.

“You…you—”

“Relax. I’m teasing. Do I look like an underwear sniffer to you?”

Yes.

No.

Maybe?

“Night, Aubrey.” He graced me with a dimple and disappeared.

AH-BREE. Damn him.

I locked the door and checked it twice, unclear if it was for my safety or his. His voice saying my name was on audio replay inside my head, getting softer and softer like a soothing lullaby with each breath as I drifted off to dreamland.

Until the knock came again.





Cocky Bastard is a standalone novel by 2 of my all time favorite authors, so needless to say I was super excited when I seen they were writing a book together.. and then the title drew me in even more! This book was an awesome read and I would rate it a 4 stars! Chance and Aubrey's journey was a wild ride to say the least and with a huge twist it will leave you wondering WTH is gonna happen now. 

This story has so much to love about it, and some will hate Chance but things happen for a reason so get to one clicking because you will never guess as to why things happen the way they do.

This was definitely a whirlwind romance and heartbreak will be involved but in the end will they find there HEA?

I will not give away any spoilers here but just tell you that you don't wanna miss out on this journey. Thanks for another great story from these wonderful authors and I looked forward to much more from each of them in the near future!



Being a huge fan of both Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward, I was beyond excited when I learned that they were writing a book together! I knew it was going to be everything that I anticipated it to be and more; I mean how could it not with these two amazing authors penning the words?! Cocky Bastard (btw I love love love the title) was everything that I thought it would be and more. This book was a 4 star read for me and I highly recommend that everyone one-click this quirky, funny, and heartwarming story as you will not be disappointed.

Chance Bateman and Aubrey Bloom met by chance (lol) and perhaps it was fate, but what the reader is able to see from the very first moment they speak to each other; words that are anything but nice, is the amazing chemistry that these two have for each other. A chemistry that leaps off of the page, making the reader almost feel as if they are in the room with panty dropping Chance and uptight ready to let loose Aubrey; in a way that only these two amazing authors can achieve.

After a week on the road, the experience of travelling with the hottie Aussie seem to have changed Aubrey for the better and made Chance want things that he struggles not to act on until finally it all becomes too much to walk away from. Once Aubrey finally admits to how she feels for Chance, not allowing him have the opportunity to say no, they share a night together that will have your panties wet and leave you yearning for your own Aussie sex god! It's the next morning that may have you throwing your kindle against the wall with a string of expletives spewing from your mouth.

Once Aubrey accepts the reality that Chance isn't who she thought he was; she struggles to begin the life that started when her road trip began. And just when she thinks everything is under control, the accent she never expected to hear again invades her brain. What will happen with Aubrey? Can she actually forgive Chance for the past? I suggest you read this amazing story to find out.



Wow, literally I just finished this book and let me tell you from about the halfway point until the end I was a blubbering emotional mess.

Let's start at the beginning...

Aubrey is on a cross country move to California when she spies a sexy man on a motorcycle. While at the rest stop, Chance's bike breaks down and Amber's car has a flat. He offers to fix the tire in exchange for a ride to Cali; he is headed that way too.

Chance gets Aubrey to lighten up. As the trip progresses so does their chemistry. Throw in a fainting goat and a side trip to Vegas and you can't help but root for these two. But then they go their separate ways.

Will fate give them a second chance? You really need to go one click this now. Seriously, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.





Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn't change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work. She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night!
