At eighteen, Sera Moore chose to go to culinary school while a higher power selected her to become an angel, specifically, an angel of death.
Now, twelve years later, Sera’s a successful baker during the day and performs her angelic duties at night. The only thing missing in her life is a man, but the last thing she wants is to fall head over wings in love. It seems her relationships are unable to survive once she reveals her nighttime activities, so it’s easier to not even bother.
But when a tenacious food critic won't take a hint, can Sera lower her wings long enough to risk her heart one more time?
I have to say I don't generally read paranormal of any kind, maybe 2 or 3 over the past couple years, but I decided to go ahead and give this book a try because the blurb sounded good and it also had a romance twist to it. I was pleasantly surprised at how well I enjoyed this book! I would give it a 3.5 stars and I would recommend to others.

Sera and her best friend Cheryl started a journey when they were 18 neither knowing where there life would lead them after such an amazing gift was given to them... one thing they did know is that would never again be able to have what people call a "normal" life.

Destin is a writer and handsomely single, but he likes the simplicity of his life and he doesn't want to add anything to complicate that....

When Sera and Destin first meet he wants nothing more than to bed that gorgeous girl, but she keeps avoiding him and pushing him away... she has her reasons... What will happen when Sera finally gives into the passion will she be able to trust Destin with her life's secret? Or will he turn out to be just like her ex-boyfriend?? Will Destin be able to handle a girlfriend with secrets?

When Tragedy strikes will Sera be able to make a very difficult decision or save her secret forever?

Get to one clicking to find out what happens! I really hope the best friend Cheryl gets her own story because I am truly intrigued on what will happen for her

Virtue of Death by Randi Perrin brings an angel of death together with a food critic. I know it sounds a little strange and out there, but the story was interesting, and at times a nail biter.

Sera bakes by day and is an angel of death at night. Doing a catering job at a wedding, she meets Destin, and is instantly intrigued by him. The only thing is, she wants to keep her distance because of her night gig. Things change when her bakery gets what she considers a poor review. Destin might want to invest in a suit of armor.

Destin had no clue that the review he did on the bakery belonged to the same girl he envisioned taking home from the wedding, but it is. And he still wants her. But where does she go at night? Why does she seem to run off and not have any time for him? He can't let her go and refuses to give her up. Maybe. She has secrets, and when he learns those, will he be willing to stick around? Or will he treat her like her ex?

Honestly, there were parts that i think dragged and parts that I think were rushed, but overall, I really liked this story. It takes angels and gives them a completely different spin on them. I will also say that I had some issues with especially one angel that is higher on the food chain, but other than that, she was able to create a new world of angels that felt complete and melded wonderful with the world of the humans. I loved reading about the love story between Destin and Sera, but I felt like Cheryl was left hanging. And Cheryl's father...someone slap him. I give the book 4 stars and recommend it to other lovers of the paranormal that are looking for something new to read.

Randi has spent her entire life writing in one form or another. In fact, if she wasn't writing, she'd likely go completely and utterly insane. Her husband has learned to recognize when the voices are talking in her head and she needs some quality time with an empty Word file (the key to a successful marriage with a writer).
She lives with her husband, daughter, and four-legged children—all of which think they are people too.
A pop-culture junkie, she has been known to have entire conversations in movie quotes and/or song lyrics.
