Blog Tour: The Girl Next Door by Emma Hart

The Girl Next Door by Emma Hart is LIVE!

One accidental pregnancy. One fake husband. What can go wrong?
There’s nothing like starting your Monday morning with a positive pregnancy test.
Trust me, I know. Because I’m looking at one right now.
All I can think is: Oh, hell. My grandmother is going to kill me.
This might just send her to an early grave, so there’s only one option—pretending the father is my new husband.
If only he’d agree to fake it.
Kai Connors was supposed to be nothing more than a one-night stand. A long, dirty, one-night stand fueled by one too many tequila shots, where the only promise was to never speak of it again.
But if my unfairly sexy next-door neighbor gets his way, this fake marriage could turn out to be very, very real…

I wanted to like this much more than I actually did. It started out so good. The banter was great, and I really liked the premise. It kind of fell a little flat in the end, and that's why I'm not rating it higher.

What happens when a one night stand with your hot neighbor turns into an unplanned pregnancy? A fake relationship to appease your family, that's what. What happens if actual feelings come into play? For that, you'll have to read this book!

Ivy suddenly finds herself pregnant, from a one night stand. She is dreading telling anyone but doesn't wait. But the baby daddy surprises her by being willing to help with everything and be there when needed.

Kai has had a crush on his apartment complex neighbor, and now that she is pregnant, he's afraid she will misconstrue his interest as guilt and obligation.

Kai is set to prove to Ivy that they belong together, even with a baby on the way.

This book started with the sass and wit that I've come to love from an Emma Hart book but feel short for me. We traversed along greatly until the last 25% where it seemed like an abrupt ending. Overall, I liked the direction this was headed.

Emma Hart is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of over forty novels and has been translated into several different languages.

She is a mother, wife, lover of wine, Pink Goddess, and valiant rescuer of wild baby hedgehogs.

Emma prides herself on her realistic, snarky smut, with comebacks that would make a PMS-ing teenage girl proud.

Yes, really. She's that sarcastic.
