Birdie is unsure on whether or not she believes in Santa but she has some wishes that she hopes can get granted. Mainly that she wants her father, Sebastian, to have a "friend". You see, her mom had passed away a few years prior, from cancer.
Sadie generally writes a dating advice column. She goes on numerous dates and writes about them. But it is starting to lose its luster. During the holiday season she also tackles the christmas wish column. Imagine her surprise when she receives a letter in July.
Sadie feels an instant connection having lost her mother when she was around the same age as Birdie. But the more she helps the more her lies start to increase along with the guilt. Not to mention the instant attraction she feels to Birdie's dad, Sebastion.
The instant connection that these three characters have is captivating. There's so much more to this story but I'm afraid I will give it away. Definitely one-click it now.
This book got me from the very first paragraph!
Sadie answers letters to Santa when not writing her dating column. She receives an endearing letter from a small girl, Birdie, who has lost her mother, and is looking for a sign that Santa exists. Sadie breaks all of her rules and mails Birdie some gifts.
After some events that I don't want to give away, you can clearly see the connection that Sadie, Birdie, and Birdie's dad, Sebastian, have. You definitely want to one click this one today. You won't regret it!
OMG! The stories I usually read from Vi and Penelope are the rom-com stories. So when this came to me, I was intrigued with the blurb. After reading this one, I have added it to my list of go-to re-reads.
This story is a heartwarming, emotional read with a sweet little surprise. Our three leading characters (I HAVE to include Birdie, the little one whose letters bring this family together) bond over loss. All three have suffered from the effects of cancer, illness, and infertility (the leading couple, anyway), which, this last part is one of the sweet little surprises that will leave you smiling.
The characters are well-rounded, with emotions described in a way that brings them to life. Little Birdie takes this story to another level with her letters to "Santa" (a.k.a. Sadie).
If you love second chance at love romance stories with emotional and heartwarming storylines, then you will love this one. I highly recommend.
