The continuation of the Coopers series is just as captivating as the beginning. Just when you think you have uncovered all there is to reveal, we are pulled into another twist that only Aleatha could spin. The secrets and lies pile up, just like players on the field. The two lead characters - Vee and Fin - have gone through and will continue to endure plenty for the sake of love and family, and commitment. The biggest questions are: Who should Vee trust, and will you one-click this like you need to?

Sacked picks up after the bombshell ending of book two, and poor Vee is still reeling. As she tries to figure out what is true and what has been hidden from her, more secrets come to light—and somehow nothing seems to add up.

Uncle Darin and Grant continue to keep everyone guessing, while Daphne's decision to contest the will adds even more tension to an already complicated situation. Through it all, the one constant is Fin. Watching his relationship with Vee continue to grow was one of my favorite parts of the book.

Of course, this wouldn't be an Aleatha Romig novel without a cliffhanger! I need answers, and I can't wait to dive into the fourth and final book to see how everything unfolds.

Helaina has spent her entire life hidden away, knowing she was different but never truly understanding why. Feeling more like a prisoner than someone being protected, it's easy to understand why she resented those closest to her. When tragedy takes everything from her, she loses the will to keep going—until Theo enters her life and forces her to make a choice: live for something or die for nothing.

I won't lie—some of Helaina's interactions with Theo gave me a bit of whiplash. Her feelings and reactions toward him shifted so quickly at times that it pulled me out of the story and left me a little frustrated. That said, I really enjoyed Theo's role in challenging Helaina to stop seeing herself as a victim and realize that her loved ones didn't die in vain. Watching her slowly discover a purpose beyond her grief was one of my favorite parts of the book.

I also loved the dual timeline. The glimpses into the past gradually unraveled Helaina's history while adding emotional depth to everything happening in the present. It was a clever way to reveal secrets without slowing the momentum of the story.

Overall, The Bone Dagger delivers an engaging blend of fantasy, danger, and slow-building romance. While Helaina's character took some getting used to, the worldbuilding, unfolding mysteries, and compelling setup have me eager to see where this series goes next.

This opening to the blurb was on point. Spellbinding fantasy beautifully written. This tale is full of emotion, excitement, and edge-of-your-seat action. I enjoyed the dual timeline because it added the perfect movement to this story. This author did a wonderful job creating a world we, as the reader, can lose themselves in. Each character was well-developed and each setting was skillfully detailed. And the chemistry between the MFC and MMC was... *sigh*.

Marriage of Sin was a solid 4-star read for me. Kristen Luciani delivers a compelling mafia romance featuring two mature, successful characters who have worked hard to build lives outside of their powerful family legacies.

Adrianna Colonna DiMicheli and Lochlan Malloy may come from rival worlds, but they share one important trait: both stepped away from their families' businesses to create something of their own. At 40, Adrianna has built a thriving consulting firm from the ground up, while Lochlan has established a successful security company. Neither is interested in being defined solely by their family names.

When a growing turf war threatens both the Italian and Irish organizations, Adrianna and Lochlan find themselves forced into a marriage designed to unite their families and strengthen their position against a common enemy. While Adrianna is understandably reluctant to lower the walls she's built around herself, Lochlan proves to be patient, understanding, and impossible not to fall for.

I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop. The chemistry was there from the beginning, but what stood out most was the respect and trust that slowly grew between them. Lochlan's willingness to give Adrianna the space she needed while still showing up for her made him an easy hero to root for.

The external conflict kept the story moving as Russian forces intensified their attacks against both the Italian and Irish families. The danger, betrayals, and political maneuvering added plenty of tension, especially when threats emerged from within their own ranks. Through it all, Adrianna and Lochlan stood together, proving they were stronger as partners than either could be alone.

If you enjoy mafia romances with mature characters, a marriage-of-convenience storyline, family loyalty, and plenty of action mixed with romance, Marriage of Sin is definitely worth picking up

I am not usually into older women/younger men but this one was a fabulous read that I enjoyed.

Adriana, a self-made woman who has built an empire of her own is pulled into the family business when tragedy strikes. But, the family business comes with a ready-made husband... a younger one. 

This author did a wonderful job writing a story that is outside of my norm but managed to grab and hold my interest with her ability to weave a tale of darkness, drama, suspense, and romance. This one is definitely one you should pick up and read yourself! Well done to this author.

Rising Waters is one story that sticks with you. Your emotions and senses are fully engaged in this psychological thriller.

Returning to her small hometown she hasn't set foot in in over six years isn't easy for our mfc. Neither is being the only one (perceived only one) to question the death that brought her home, or the mysterious disappearances that occur.

The truth in revealed slowly, hidden secrets come to the surface, and her perseverance will pay off. This isn't my usual Aleatha story, but man! I absolutely loved reading this one!

Jillian hasn't been back to Blue Gill in six years. Returning in search of answers, she quickly finds herself caught up in a web of mystery, secrets, and scandal. It's clear that something isn't right in Blue Gill—and the deeper she digs, the more dangerous things become.

I honestly couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Aleatha Romig does a fantastic job building suspense and keeping readers guessing. I had a theory about one of the twists and was thrilled to discover I was right, but the other major reveal? I never saw it coming.

With intriguing characters, plenty of tension, and unexpected twists, Rising Waters kept me hooked from beginning to end. If you enjoy mystery, suspense, and small-town secrets, definitely pick this one up if you get the opportunity.
