Ameline will do anything to avoid being stuck with her newest stepmother. Luckily she has an older brother that she can stay with, with the caveat of him helping her study for her high school tests. But in typical fashion, he leaves her behind with his roommate, Gabriel.

Gabriel comes from a really huge family and pulls Ameline immediately under his wing.  The more weekends she spends their the deeper their friendship becomes. 

During her first year at college, her mother contacts her out of the blue. Things come to head when Ameline's father gives her an ultimatum: ignore her biological mother or be cut off from everything, even her family. Not understanding everything fully, she meets with her mother.

Left with nothing and new onset of her own medical problems, Gabriel comes to the rescue. The severity of her situation has Gabriel moving quickly, you see he has been in love with Ameline for a while now.

This book jumped a round a little bit more than I like but overall I enjoyed this. I liked that Gabriel and Ameline formed a deep connection and that it seems like a natural progression. This ended on a major cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Well, our MFC chooses wrongly. And by choosing wrongly, she loses EVERYTHING. But, she gains a strong support in her older brother's friend. He is someone who has secretly been in love with her for years and only now gets to put that love into action.

While I enjoyed this story overall, I do wish it would have stuck to one thing at a time and fleshed that out. That said, I do think others will enjoy this emotional romance so you should one-click to find out how our Ameline recovers from all life has thrown at her.
