Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have written another hilarious, emotional, fun, steamy read that left me laughing out loud (literally) at times, want to smack the characters upside their heads a few times, and had tears in my eyes from a couple of emotional scenes.
Holden and Lala (the story of how she got that nickname was cute) are a forbidden romance that you root for. Not only is she his best friend's little sister (the friend is no longer on Earth), but she is also engaged. She is the complete opposite of Holden - smart, serious, committed to one person. Holden, on the other hand, comes across as a carefree musician (drummer) who lives by the stereotypical musician life of playing the field and not taking anything too seriously.
Fate plays its hand in bringing these two together. And boy, do they fight it! There were many scenes of inner dialogue where these two debate with themselves whether or not their feelings are real, true, and if they had a chance. Of course, life happens and they go their own ways, but are brought together another time in a sweet way.
I enjoyed this story just as much as I know any fan of these authors or this genre will. One-click to take this Holden and Lala ride.
