The cards are dropped and our victims are marked ready to be sent back to the hell they crawled out of but when the blonde-haired, green-eyed woman who hasn’t uttered a single word has me following her like a siren’s call, receives the Queen of Hearts, I’m forced to choose between her or them.
Do I break the rules and fight the ones I love most to keep her alive?

“ROYAL
Past…
I watch them follow like the fucking sheep they are, the sight disgusts me, when will these simple-minded nobodies realize that they are nothing, no one will remember their names when they are buried under a pile of dirt because they never stood out. They never impacted anyone or this world because they chose to conform and fall into line like the good fucking sheep they are. I’ll never conform or be what society tells me to be, I’m not like them. I’m the son of the Don and son of the heiress who owns all of Miami. My grandfather made sure my dad wouldn’t be able to cut me out, Miami is mine the second I turn twenty-one there isn’t a fucking thing Bishop Murdoch can do about it.”
“Yo, Tyson just found his card.” I turn to where Chaos is pointing and sure enough, Tyson Grundall stands there pale and shaken as he stares down at the King of Clubs he has clutched in his hand. We watch as he turns the card over and visibly shakes when he reads the words written on the back, Memento Mori. He darts his gaze around the crowded halls, the moment his dull brown eyes land on us, he jerks back a step shaking his head trying to deny that this is happening.
Dumb fuck, everyone here at UNLV knows we are not to be messed with. Tyson thought he could snitch, well, he is about to learn that snitches get stitches and wind up in ditches and there is no one here that can or will save him from us.
Students used to call us the four horsemen until Sin nixed that shit, she hates that she is underestimated for not having a cock. Truth is, Chanel is fucking lethal and a dead shot. Uncle Vincent made sure she could hit any target he put in front of her before she was twelve. “The girl is fucking crazy and none of us dare to challenge her, she isn’t just good with guns the crazy bitch has blades stashed all over her body. Havoc and Chaos are the brutes, they love to use their fists and call Sin and me pussy’s for using guns. Havoc says he loves feeling his victim's bones break beneath his fists, they’re both fucking out of their minds and I love it.”
“As for me, I choose to do things slowly, I love to hunt my prey and taunt them. I want them to know I’m coming but never when or where. I love to watch them slowly lose their minds as they try to prepare for my attack. It gets me fucking hard knowing they are scared, Tyson has known this has been coming for weeks, and receiving his card today tells him he has less than five days before I come for him. I smirk as he shoots me one last pleading look, slams his locker closed then races down the hallway away from us.
“He’s gonna run.” Chaos sing songs from beside me.
“Nah, he’s gonna call the cops.” Havoc adds from my other side.
I peer over my shoulder when I hear Sin snort, the three of us eye her and wait for the only female we have allowed close to us to speak. She may be blood but, that isn’t what earned her a place among us, her fierce loyalty and unwavering trust in us, is what cemented her place at my side as my second. She and I have always been close, in fact, I’m closer to her than the twins.
“The little bitch is going to hold up in his room and call his mommy to come save his ass.” I chuckle, she’s right. Tyson’s mother is the sheriff in the local county and he thinks he is untouchable for that reason, the fucker was so wrong. No one is safe from us, when the card is given there is no one that can save you from the wrath that awaits. My phone begins to vibrate in my pocket drawing my attention, I pull it out and grit my teeth the moment I see it’s my father calling. I shoot the other three a look that they all recognize, Sin nods and leads the twins away as I slip into an empty classroom and answer the call.
“Father, what a pleasant surprise.” I smirk when I hear him growl.
“Don’t fuck with me you little shit.” I clench my phone so tight I fear I may just snap it, he still thinks I’m ten years old and can reprimand me like I am child. “Reroute that fucking ship and get it back here, it wasn’t just my guns on there, your Aunt Koby’s shit is on it as well.”
“I can’t keep the smile off my face, I was wondering how long it would take for him to figure out it was me that rerouted the cargo ship. “Why do you always blame me?” I defend.
“Kiara!” He roars so loud I have to pull the phone away from my ear.
“What is it?” I hear my mom ask.
“Your son is fucking with my business again and I’ve had enough of his fucking tantrums, he’s a pain in my ass–.”
“Did you just call my baby boy a pain in your ass?” I bite down on my fist to keep myself from laughing, my dad may be the Don and the boss of everything in New York but even he answers to someone higher, I bet he never expected that boss to be his own wife.
“Baby–.”
Mom cuts him off before he can finish. “Put the call on speaker now.” A second passes before my mom speaks. “Royal, my sweet boy.” I smile, my mom is my only weakness in this world. “What did you do to your father, this time?”
