Release Blitz: His by Fiona Murphy

Title: His: Dominic
Series: Sabatini Family #1
Author: Fiona Murphy
Genre: Contemporary Mafia Romance
Release Date: January 1, 2021
Any minute I’m going to wake up from this nightmare. Being tied up and thrown in the trunk of a car doesn’t happen in real life. Except the silk tie around my wrists feels very real. And my father, Johnny Conti, the head of the Outfit, is telling me to be a good girl—that I’m to be the wife of the man who tied me up and has me over his wide shoulder.

Some women might swoon over gorgeous Dominic Sabatini with his blue eyes, dimples, and muscled body in a silk suit. Not me. Those are just distractions from who, what he really is: a ruthless killer with blood on his hands and ice in his veins.
There is no way Dominic could actually want to marry me. A virgin, curvy, buried in an all-girls Catholic boarding school for most of my life and seventeen years younger than him. He’s marrying so far beneath him it’s absurd.

No to all of it. Tomorrow I’m going to marry the man of my dreams, a nice, kind accountant. I’m going to have the safe, boring life I’ve always longed for. I have to escape this nightmare. But Dominic growls I belong to him and he keeps what is his.

This a mafia romance with dark elements.

While this is the first book in a series it is a standalone and does not end in a cliffhanger.

It hits me. I’m not getting out of this. I won’t be able to get away from Dominic Sabatini. Not today, a month, or even a year from now. If somehow, some way I got away, he’d find me. I have no idea why instead of scaring me, the realization thrills me.

No, no. Fear shakes me out of my reverie. I can’t just give up. There has to be a way. There is always a way, isn’t there?

I startle at the knock on the bathroom door.

“Regina, get moving. I’m starving. I want to grab something to eat then get back on the road.”

Looking down at the dress, anger at Dominic and myself fuels me. Today was supposed to be my wedding day, this is my wedding dress. I refuse to make this easy, for either of us.

Hands shaking, I put on the pretty white lace bra and plain cotton white briefs. Forcing my fear down, I slip into the white dress.

When I open the door, Dominic is standing by the door leading out of the room, carrying his leather duffle. His eyes go cold. “Change.”

“No.” I’m defiant, refusing to back down from the dark energy vibrating around him.

He drops the duffle and crosses the room in all of three steps. A hand goes around my throat and my stupid body betrays me, going instantly limp against him. “Take it off or I will.”

I shake my head as much as I can. I blink and holy fucking crap, his other hand finds the neckline and tears it from my body. We’re both breathing hard and fast. The hand around my neck lets me go and fucking shit, I stumble into him. His hands wrap around my arms as he catches me close, his mouth at my ear. Hot air is sliding down the skin of my neck and I can’t fucking breathe.

“You are mine. You belong to me. I can make you tremble in ecstasy or fear. The decision is yours.”
I have to give this one 5 stars. I just HAVE to!
This author was new to me, but not any longer. Thank God! I just grabbed up a few more to add to this collection.

This story - a Mafia story hot enough to burn my Kindle and sizzle the insides.

I think the thing I loved most (aside from the characters and their steamy (flaming hot) story) is that the author dispersed equal parts light with dark when it came to the storytelling. This is, after all, a Mafia story. To have left it all light and fluffy wouldn't have made sense. But, to leave each scene dark as hell would have left the romance lovers scratching their heads and ending the story early. Ms. Fiona did a fabulous job of knowing when to give us each moment.

The characters were multi-dimensional. There was a depth to them that made them real. They became a friend, in a sense.

The story itself was well written. From the storyline to the characters, their adventures and experiences, the settings, the turmoil (both emotional and physical), and the climax - I enjoyed it all. I would absolutely recommend this story to anyone who loves the dark, gritty, HAF Mafia romance genre.
Due to commitment issues I have lived in many different cities and my favorite is Chicago but I have managed to settle into Austin and perhaps my commitment issues are behind me.

I have enjoyed reading from a very young age and it wasn't long before the children books bored me and I read the books my mother enjoyed Stephen King and Dean Koontz and I didn't sleep without the light on until I was about ten.

I came across my first Harlequin by accident and it was love at first read, no one died and happy endings? It was a whole new world and I loved it.

I wrote my first story at eight and everyone died, of course. Since then I would like to think I've gotten better and now I'm writing the happily ever afters I first fell in love with, with some hot sex thrown in along the way.

As a plus size woman myself, I have started writing the stories I always wanted to see myself in but never did. And now I’m ecstatic to give BBWs the happily ever afters with hot Alphas I want to read.

TheStrikeOut_collage-5

It started with one night out with the boys.

She was the hot diner waitress putting herself through school.

I was the rich, arrogant player everyone misjudges.

On paper we didn’t match.

Yet all it took was one day. One single day to change her mind.

She wasn’t planning to spend her day off with me.

She wasn’t supposed to fall for my charm.

But one day, one smile, turned into several nights of her calling out my name.

I’m not the guy she should end up with. I’m jealous, possessive. Not here for a long time - just a good time.

She’s changed me.

But, for some reason, I feel her slipping through my fingers and no matter what I do, I fear I’m going to strike out with the one and only girl I’ve ever fallen for.

TheStrikeOut_teaser-7

“Four patty melts, then?” Harmony asks, with a little more attitude in her voice than before.

“That would be—”

“Is there something wrong?” I ask, interrupting Knox before he can say something douchey like “that would be lovely.”

“Nope.” She pops the P with a snap of her lips and refuses to look at any of us.

“Then the patty melts would be—”

“Do you have something against us being on the baseball team?” I ask, turning my entire body toward her. Carson groans. He becomes “ravenous” when he’s drunk, and I know all he wants is his patty melt with a plateful of fries, but I want some answers first.

The stigma on campus is that the players on the Brentwood baseball team are entitled assholes—which might be true for some of the players who’ve worked through the system, but not for us. There’s also a good chance, at least once a day, that we run into a student on campus who hates us. Didn’t think it would happen before school started.

“Dude, you’re so aggressive right now,” Knox says. “Maybe she just—”

“Yeah, I do.” Harmony props her hand on her hip.

“Okay, never mind.” Knox leans back in his booth and folds his arms over his chest.

“Let me guess,” I say in an irritated and affronted tone. “You think we’re a bunch of entitled assholes who rule the campus and don’t deserve half the benefits we receive for being on the team.”

She folds her arms as well and with a whole lot of sass, she says, “Yeah, I do. Your expensive stadium, equipment, staff, and full-ride scholarships eat up half the tuition on this campus, leaving nothing for us peasants. You’re obnoxious, self-righteous, and think the world revolves around you. Meanwhile, the rest of the students around you work at shitty diners, earning low wages, serving drunk morons like you at all hours of the night, just to put ourselves through college so we can earn a degree, graduate to a shitty job that won’t pay for our student loans, and wind up in debt with the rest of the country.”

Yikes.

Silence falls. What do you say to that?

Clearly, she’s bitter, but with the passion flaming in her eyes and the claws ready to shoot from her fingertips, I think I should slowly back away.

Jason takes that moment to appear from the bathroom, and he sits with a resounding plop. He glances around and asks, “Did you order me a patty melt?”

Rolling her eyes, Harmony takes off toward the kitchen, leaving us concerned. Is she going to put in our order? Because we want our patty melts.

I love being back in the Brentwood world. Here we have Holt's story. And boy, what a story it is.

The summer before entering into his junior year of college, Holt stumbles across a waitress named Harmony and he can't stop thinking about her.

Harmony has sworn off entitled, arrogant athletes. But Holy is persistent and his swooning methods are starting to break her down.

This is a hard, fast, deep love. But their journey isn't an easy one. So, is Marking locker room material? Definitely one click to find out.

Must read!

Holt is a big shot baseball player. Melody hates student athletes. They get everything while she has to balance work and school. The athletes always seem cocky and rude. But something is different about Holt. Will she let down her guard and let him in?

This book is sweet and sexy. The witty dialogue is like real life, and you won't want to put this book down.

One-click today. You won't want to put it down!

Cover Reveal and Giveaway: Right As Raine by Lucy Lennox

Cover & Blurb Reveal with an Excerpt & Giveaway:

Right As Raine by Lucy Lennox

Releasing February 2nd

Cover Designer: Natasha Snow

Tiller:

As the first openly gay professional football player, I can’t afford to make any mistakes, on or off the field. And the absolute biggest mistake I could make right now would be to fall for Mikey Vining, my best friend, employee and, more importantly, Coach’s baby boy. I might fantasize about Mikey at night-—every night—but actually touching him would be a serious personal foul.

And falling for him? That’s completely out of bounds.

Mikey:

I’ve learned my lesson about falling for one of my dad’s players. They’re a bunch of spoiled jocks with more muscles than brains. I’ve spent years learning to keep my eyes, and my hands, to myself. But resisting the temptation becomes nearly impossible when Tiller Raine and I end up together in a small cabin in a remote Colorado town.

Suddenly, there’s not much to do but look at each other. And talk. And hopefully, hopefully touch.

But what happens when our stay in Aster Valley is over and it’s time to return to the real world? Will Coach blow the whistle on our relationship? Or will Tiller admit there might actually be something he loves more than football after all?

I turned and ran right into a delicious-cologne-smelling beast.

“Oh, fuck,” I blurted, windmilling my arms in an effort not to keel over.

Strong hands grabbed my sides and held me upright. I glanced up into Tiller Raine’s stormy-gray eyes and tried not to get a stupid crush on a cocky rookie football player which meant I jumped back with a choking grunt sound and almost fell over again.

The edge of Tiller’s mouth turned up the barest amount. I glared at him. “I’m fine, thanks,” I snapped before reminding myself this person was now my boss.

Tiller’s nostrils flared. “Listen, Mikey. You don’t need to like this,” he said in a low voice. “And I don’t need to like this. But we both have a job to do, so let’s just focus on the job. Got it?”

For some reason, that hurt. I wanted to be allowed to dislike him for no reason, but the same didn’t apply to him disliking me.

“It’s Michael, actually,” I corrected, even though absolutely zero people used my full name outside of doctors and government offices. “And yeah, focus on the job. Fine.”

How many times could I possibly use that word in one day?”

“Fine,” he repeated with a nod.

“Yeah. Fine.”

We stared at each other for a few beats before Tiller seemed to snap out of it and reached into his pocket for his keys.

“Key to the apartment,” he said gruffly, handing it over. “I’ll get a copy of the house key made and bring it over to you after practice.”

“Thanks,” I managed before remembering what I’d been hired for. “Any allergies, picky eating, or health issues I need to know for your diet?”

He shook his head. “Whatever is fine.”

Great. Fine. I’m sure I could narrow down the choices from about ten thousand options. No problem. “So… I’ll just… throw together anything?”

The great Tiller Raine gave me a sum total of one word in response. “Sure.” Which suited me just fine. This time I’d made myself a promise. No sleeping with jackass ballplayers. No sleeping with players of any kind, in fact. And absolutely no sleeping with my boss.

About Lucy:

After enjoying creative writing as a child, Lucy didn’t write her first novel until she was over 40 years old. Her debut novel, Borrowing Blue, was published in the autumn of 2016. Lucy has an English Literature degree from Vanderbilt University, but that doesn’t hold a candle to the years and years of staying up all night reading tantalizing novels on her own. She has three children, plays tennis, and hates folding laundry. While her husband is no shmoopy romance hero, he is very good at math, cooks a mean lasagne, has gorgeous eyes, looks hot in his business clothes, and makes her laugh every single day.

Lucy hopes you enjoy sexy heroes as much as she does. Happy reading!

Excerpt From Hemlock & Thorns by J.J. Riley and Suki Gale

“Welcome to Hemlock & Thorns,” I greeted the gorgeous, tattooed, and annoyed man standing near the door. “What can I help you with today?”

The man in question looked up at me and while I could tell by the firm set of his shoulders that he was frustrated, it didn’t seem to be with me. Which I counted myself fortunate because he might be the hottest person I’ve seen in quite a long time. A black wide brimmed hat that hipsters were inclined to wear, a long, but well-maintained beard, a white t-shirt was visible under his black and red plaid button up, cuffed blue jeans, and black boots completed the look. As he stalked over to me I took in his warm brown eyes that took me in, with one quick look up and down.

“Hey man,” he gave me a brief smile. “I need your help and your shop seems like the perfect place for what I need.”

Taken aback by his deep, rumbling voice and his words it took me a minute to respond. “What might that be?”

“I know there is this whole language of flowers thing,” he waved his hands a bit, like he was too angry to find the words. “I need a bouquet that says ‘fuck you’ for my ex-girlfriend who isn’t taking the hint, something for her to leave me the hell alone. You have anything that can help me with that?”
