Blog Tour & Review: Love Unclaimed by Jennifer Benson

Audree Edwards has loved Gavin Montgomery since she was a little girl, but her older brother Clint made it clear that Audree was off limits. Audree however, wasn’t taking no for an answer and made it clear to Gavin she wanted him.
Gavin, not having the best family life, bolted as soon as he could after high school. Audree knew she couldn’t have all of Gavin and settled for the bit of him she could hold on to. When they are both finally ready to admit they want more, Audree thinks Gavin has done the unthinkable.

Will Gavin be able to tell Audree he's ready to pursue a future?

Will Audree see the truth about Gavin before it is too late?

Will Audree and Gavin finally give in tell each other how they feel and what they want?

“So are we going to talk about what happened or are we going to go on pretending we didn’t have sex, again?” Audree asked, walking up behind Gavin who was brushing down his horse. It looked like he had been out riding already this morning.  “Audree, you climbed into my bed,” he huffed. “I was sleeping.”  “You were dreaming about me. You were touching yourself while you were dreaming about me.” She blocked his path to move around the horse.  “So that gives you the right to come into my room and fuck me? What if I did that to you?”  “I’ll leave my door open,” she snapped.  “Ugh, Audree. I told you that night that we couldn’t happen, that it would only be that night.”  “Then why didn’t you stop me from fucking you!  You are a big strong man.  You could have picked me up and moved me.  You’ve done it before.  You could have pushed me away.  You could have told me to stop,” she stomped.  “But you didn’t, because you wanted it as much as I did.  You want me, Gavin, but you won’t take me.  I have made a complete ass out of myself for years.  I have thrown myself at you because I feel what is between us.  I want to be with you. I want to be in your arms, in your bed, in your fucking heart.”  She refused to let the tears banging against her lids fall in front of him.  “I know you have been with other women, but I want to be yours.  I want you to be mine.  I am standing here before you making the biggest fool of myself; telling you that all you have to do is say the word.  Tell me I’m yours and you have me.”  “Audree, I can’t! I won’t…,” he barked harshly.  “You can’t. You won’t. Well, fuck you, Gavin Montgomery.  Next time you see me I might not be available and I sure as hell won’t be climbing into your bed again.  So you enjoy those dreams about me and you remember the feel of my body on top of you, underneath you and in front of you.  Remember how you feel being inside of me, because it can’t and won’t happen again!”  She stormed out of the barn and heard the clanging of metal hitting the barn wall, but refused to turn back to him.  This time it wasn’t him leaving without a word; she was the one leaving.  She called Ruby to tell her she was heading back to school, and if she wanted a ride, she needed to be ready in twenty minutes.

Love Unclaimed was a whirlwind love story.  I would give this book a 3.5-4 stars.  It was told in the 3rd person POV and first person which can be confusing at times but I didn't feel that way with this story.  I would recommend this story to my friends.  I really loved all the characters in this book and look forward to reading more about each of them.

Audree and Gavin have known each other since they were kids and there relationship bloomed over time.  When they are older they finally realize that there chemistry is too much to hold back on and have a passionate night under the stars but both know that it will only be the one night because Gavin can't be with Audree he has to many demons already and he is only protecting her.  As time passes the chemistry never dies and Audree's love for Gavin is stronger than every but he has become just a friend with benefits when he is in town.  Will these 2 every find there HEA? Or will betrayals and demons keep them apart forever?  Will Gavin finally realize that he is in love with Audree and that seeing her with other men just doesn't work for him anymore?  Will it be too late does Audree move on without Gavin or is her heart so tied up in knots over Gavin that she can never love someone else the way she loves him??

Pick up this book and find out!  Thanks for a good love story Jennifer hope to read more from you in the future.

Here is a little excerpt from the book:

"Gavin" she said breathlessly, trying not to rub her bottom against him.  I need more from you. I want more from you. I cannot do this anymore.  I don't want just sex with you.

"What is done is done.  We need to figure out where to go from here.  I love you, Audree, and I want us to stop wasting time apart.  I told Clint I would go to whatever pace you set and I would spend every day making this right, but I don't want to lose any more time with you."  "I don't want to waste any more time either, but I can't just jump into bed with you.  We do need to take this slower.  I don't want to be your fuck buddy anymore, Gavin.  I want to be yours.  I want you to be mine.  But it has to be more than just in bed."

If you love a good love story then Love Unclaimed is for you.  It will pull at your heart strings and and make you fall in love with the characters.  The story goes back and forth between past and present and is told in third person.  This is a story that you can pick up as a great weekend read and leave you falling in love.  The story follows a circle of friends, Aubree and her brother Clint, Gavin and his brother Travis and Aubree’s best friend Ruby.  Even though the story revolves around Aubree and Gavin, I feel like I was able to know the other characters as well.  Rudy is hilarious and is that best friend that knows how to tell it like it is.   The story follows the group in a story that alternates between past and present.

Aubree knew at a young age there would be only one boy for her, Gavin.  He was a little older than her but one day at the local swimming hole she knew he was the one.  Over the years they were friendly with each other but on Aubree’s 18th birthday she would give herself to him.  Gavin also fell for Aubree but when her brother Clint told him to stay away that she was off limits, he respected his friend and did so.  He would have relationships over the years but he was always attracted to Aubree.  On that night, he would find out just how much.

“The spent the rest of the night making love under the stars, not thinking about what would happen when the sun came up.”

They would spend the next couple of years being there for each other when Gavin came home from college.  But beyond that, they didn’t have a relationship. They were just friends.  Even though this pained Aubree, she knew she would take any bit of Gavin he would give her.  What she didn’t know is the promise he made to Clint but also Gavin was getting pressure from his father to pursure someone else.  Gavin’s family owned a large parcel of land but Gavin’s father was greedy and wanted more.  He would get that if Gavin was to into a prearranged marriage.

Will Aubree be able to move past the love she feels for Gavin?  Can she find happiness with someone else?  Will Gavin open his eyes to see that Aubree has been there for him always or will he do what’s expected of him by his Father???  You will need to read to find out.  Hopefully you will fall in love with Gavin and Aubree like I did!
