Confessed is the follow-up to Professed by Nicola Rendell, and a book I enjoyed.
Lucy is an heiress and is in the process of running away when she runs a pickup off the road. Not just any guy though. Someone who the cops and a mob boss are both looking for. They weren't supposed to stick together. He was going to rob her and leave. She wants to get away from her life. They can't seem to say goodbye to each other though.
There were moments when I laughed and others when I rolled my eyes. The characters were interesting, however, there were parts when the story felt like it dragged or was rushed. Other times when it felt like it was missing something, or when something unexpected was thrown in suddenly. Overall, the story was enjoyable and I think you will like it too. 3.5 stars.
Vince is looking for another con. He has a rap sheet and has been in prison and his next con happens to be Lucy who literally knocks him off the road.
But somewhere along the way he started to feel more. He wanted to be a better human being for her. And he wants to help her.
But it seems everyone is after them- The Russian Mob is after Vince and the Government after Lucy after some shady meat deals that went down.
