I've been anticipating Holden's book since he ran into the pole at the end of Hot Axe...and I loved it. While it might not be my favorite of the series, it's hard to beat Robbie and Ames in Hot Axe, Axe Backwards is still so good! I loved the build up, the emotions, and the Merritt and Holden interact. A thief and a sheriff...what can go wrong? Throw in a family of thieves and the Axford clan, and you have a recipe for a great story! This is one you definitely want to read. You will laugh and clutch your pearls, but you will keep turning page after page as you watch the love develop and grow between these two men. 4 stars!
