Review Tour: Throb by Vi Keeland

 Every girl needs three things
 1.  A flutter in her belly when she meets him for the first time.
 Meet Cooper
My lips brush the top of her hand lightly, my tongue sneaking out to fleetingly touch her skin.  The brief contact stirs an ache inside me.  This woman tugs at something—more than arousal—something that makes me want to slow down time just to spend a few more minutes standing here.
“Did you just…” she stammers a bit.
“Did I just what?”
She squints at me.  “You know.”
“Do I?”
“I felt your tongue on my hand.  You…you licked me.”
I’d been dying to run my tongue along her neck all evening, although I hadn’t really meant to be so crude about it.  It just sort of …happened.  “I wouldn’t say licked, maybe just a little taste.”
“So you tasted me?”
My entire body suddenly has interest in this conversation.  “I suppose I did.  But it wasn’t nearly enough.  That brings us back to my invitation for dinner.  Tomorrow night?”
“I can’t.”
“The day after then?”
She laughs and shakes her head.  The sound makes me smile.
“Good night, Cooper.”  She pulls the driver’s side door shut and leaves me standing there…for a full five minutes after she’s gone.

2.  A best friend to talk about him to.
 Meet Sadie

“And?”
“And I kissed him when we were in his office.”
“How was his office?”
“Really?  That’s what you want to know.  Not how was the kiss or aren’t you in breach of your contract?  How was his office?”
“You can tell a lot about a man by his office.”
I gulp another unladylike sip from my wine glass.  “His office was beautiful.  Sleek, overlooking the city.  It oozed power.”
“Nice.  Bet he fucks like he owns you.”
The thought of what he’s like in bed is enough to make me lose my train of thought.
“Go on,” Sadie prods.
I don’t continue immediately.
“You forgot what you were up to because you were thinking of him fucking you like he owns you, didn’t you?”  My best friend smirks knowingly.
“Shut up.”  I pause.  “Anyway, I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
“Well, him.  Obviously.”
“I wish it were that easy.”

3.  A gentleman that turns into a bossy dirty talker in the bedroom.
Cooper – behind closed doors.

“You haven’t even begun to see bossy yet.  Tonight I’m going to tell you to do things, and you’re going to do them.  When I tell you to open wider, or take my cock deeper, you’re going to listen.  You know why?  Because since the moment we met, all I’ve wanted to do is make you feel good.  Hell, I don’t even need to get off physically.  Because I’m going to get off watching you every minute.  So, yeah, I’m going to be bossy.  Now let’s put the rest of this behind us.  Do you want to be with me tonight?”
After that prelude, I nod my head fast.  I’m no fool.  Who wouldn’t?

Throb was another fantastic book by VI Keeland.  I would give this book a solid 4 stars!  I feel in major fan girl crush for VI Keeland with her MMA books and even though this wasn't MMA she made swoon again.  The chemistry and they plot of this story was awesome.  This was a standalone and does give you and HEA.. but it is a bumpy road full of compassion and sexy scenes!  I absolutely devoured this from cover to end.. thanks for another great book and look forward to much more in the future!
Kate and Cooper meet at a poker game being held on the studio lot that Cooper owns.  They have an instant attraction but soon find out that it is forbidden.  Kate is taking time off from college to help her mother and when a T.V. show called Throb lands in her lap she is determined to do anything to win, the only problem is its a dating show and she has to fool the man in believing she is the perfect one to choose.. but is it really that hard?  She finds that it will become extremely hard because she has her eyes set on another man Cooper...
Cooper is the epitome of sexy as sin... he is rich and somewhat famous.  He doesn't do relationships he is a one night stand king.  When his brother comes to him to help with a new T.V. series Cooper will be skeptical because his brother Miles is always coming up with ideas and they always fail.  When Cooper decides to help him out he doesn't realize how much he wished he wouldn't have.  When he meets Kate he finds himself wanting to know more about her.. but she is holding something back.. when her secret is out about being on the show this makes Cooper even more determined to be with her, he will go as far as sabotaging things happening on the show.   When they both finally get what they want from eachother will it be enough?  And when there secret affair comes to light will Kate be out all the money should could have had??
Pick up this book you will fall in love with these characters as much as I did.  Oh and even though its a standalone we will get more of Flynn the bachelor of Throb and a new girl Lucky! I can't wait for there story because he is a hot ass rock star and I did feel he needs more of a story after the ending of Throb.  Thanks VI Keeland I will continue to follow you in your author journey and look forward to so much more!

Vi Keeland became one of my favorite authors after reading her MMA Fighter Series and then some of her standalone books such as The First Thing I See and Left Behind; so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to read Throb and I was anything but disappointed.  A story that is different than many others that I have encountered in the past, I was drawn to the chemistry between the main characters Cooper and Kate; both finding something in the end that they didn't know they had been looking for.  This book was 4 star read for me and I would recommend it to others!

The meeting between Cooper and Kate was one of chance, each attending a poker game; Cooper for the first time in years and Kate for the first time ever.  Attracted to Kate immediately, Cooper never gets more than her name that first night as the rule of poker are no talking about work once the cards are dealt.  Not knowing how she is a member of the movie industry, he spends the entire next day trying to get her off his mind, and almost does when his brother Miles shows up asking for his help with his new reality tv project called Throb.  Cooper, not wanting to help his brother by investing money in another failure, decides to do it anyway and later becomes glad he did because it leads him right back to Kate.

Kate has decided to drop out of college for a while and become a contestant on a tv dating show where the girls are all vying for a shot at a relationship with the sexy lead singer of a band, Flynn.  Kate has ulterior motives for entering the contest, she only does it for the cash money prize that the final for, and maybe even the final girl will receive; money that is desperately needed to help her brother and his paraplegias following a horrendous car accident where Kate was the driver.  Being a contestant wasn't so bad, that is until she met Cooper and became interested in him which was a blatant disregard for the rules of the NDA contract she signed when going on the show.

Cooper discovers that Kate is a contestant when Miles brings him the dailies from the taping; hoping to convince him to invest more money in advertising for the show.  Wanting Kate to walk away as a contestant so that they can start a relationship is Coopers main focus; until Kate tells him that the reason she is doing it is for the cash prize and surely he can wait a few weeks until the show is over to be with her.

What ensues while waiting for the show to end will have you on the edge of your seat wanting more from this couple.  They are funny and quirky at the same time they can make you swoon with the gestures.  This reader was hoping for a companion book on Miles, as he was an interesting character throughout the book with his dealings with Kate and Cooper.  I highly recommend grabbing this book and giving it a read. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn't change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work.  She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night!
