With book one leaving me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen with Elizabeth and Alex's relationship I could not wait to dive in and find out! This book was a 4 star read for me and I highly recommend this series to everyone.
Elizabeth finally made the decision to follow her heart instead of her head to leave her evil cold-hearted husband Cal and be with the only man who has ever made her feel alive; the man that was hired to protect her, Alex. Having revealed her secrets to him in Hidden in Lies, Elizabeth became vulnerable to Alex in a way that she never had with anyone before in her life, especially not her husband Cal, who she loathed (and the reader did as well). Little did she know that when she finally opened her heart up to a love she didn't believe she deserved or that perhaps didn't exist for her, she would find out that she was being deceived all over again. Struggling to put her life back together, Elizabeth resolves that she needs to live for herself, and that her happiness is more important than money; but will that be a life with Alex?
Alex is keeping a secret from Elizabeth that he knows will rock the very core of the relationship that he has been building with her. Knowing that he should have kept his heart out of the situation but not able to do so, only has the lies he has to tell her become more and more intricate; if for nothing else than to keep her safe for now. Wondering if Elizabeth will be able to forgive him once it is all laid out on the table runs through his head on a continuous loop and all he knows is that she is the only woman that he will ever love.
