One of the hardest things I have ever had to do was bury my wife.
The second hardest thing would be watching my 12 year old daughter fall to her knees as they lowered her mother into the ground to rest.
A heart wrenching vision that will forever be etched in my mind.
Claire was my best friend, she had been since we were barely old enough to talk. I always knew, one day, I would marry her. I think I may have even told her that a few times while we were growing up.
Never did I think I would lose her so suddenly.
I knew at that moment…
Our life would never be the same again…

“Climb up,” I said from behind her as she stood staring up at the horse only a few feet from her with a look of panic on her face. I was more than positive this was the closest this city girl had ever been to one.
She peered back over her shoulder, and I almost laughed at how overwhelmed she looked.
“I’m from the city,” she said with wide eyes, emphasizing her loss at what to do. “Ryan, you do understand that we have subways and taxis, right? We do not have horses that are the size of SUVs. I’m going to need a little help if you expect me—” She pointed toward her chest, then spun around to point at the horse. “—to get up on that thing.”
Now I did chuckle. It was impossible not to. She was damn near panicking at the thought of how she would mount and then ride the horse.
I stepped up behind her, my chest fitting flush against her back. Gripping her hips, I leaned my head closer and grazed my lips over her ear. Her body relaxed against mine, and she tilted her head to the side, opening up her neck to me.
As I placed a kiss at the base of her neck, she shuddered in my arms. “You have to put your foot in the stirrups,” I whispered before kissing just below her ear. “I’ll lift as you pull yourself up.”
She nodded with her eyes closed as her chest moved up and down in small pants.
“Go on,” I urged.
I lifted her as she gripped the saddle, and she yelped when I firmly placed her atop Storm, my father’s Oldenburg stallion. Jackson held him steady as I pulled myself up and took my spot behind Amber. Our bodies were so close together I could feel her ragged breaths as she shifted against me with each one.

“Come on, Bailey, why don’t you let me get you home? You’re gonna feel like shit in the morning, sweetheart.” Jackson stood up and took a step toward her, holding out his hand.
“Oh please, Jack, you need to just chill out and take a Viagra. I’m fine, and I’m not ready to leave.”
Everyone froze, staring at Bailey intently. Had she truly meant to say that, or was that a drunk slipup?
Jackson leaned in and placed one hand on each arm of her chair, then lowered himself until his face was only inches from hers. “I can reassure you, baby, I can go all night long, and I don’t need a little blue pill to make that possible.”
She tilted her head back and looked up at him with a puzzled expression.
He smiled and licked his lower lip, and the way he looked at Bailey, showing sure signs of lust, was causing me to feel a little overheated. Jackson’s sexual energy seemed to flow off him in waves. He never tried to hide it, and he sure as hell didn’t care who was around when he decided to lay it on even thicker.
His lips were so close to hers that it looked as if he was going to kiss her. Instead, he murmured, “When you’re not so drunk, I’ll show you just how long I can go. I’m pretty damn sure I can outlast you, sweetheart.”
Bailey turned her head in my direction, suddenly looking a little more sober than she had three minutes ago. Our gazes locked, and her eyes widened just a little. “I meant to say Valium,” she whispered in horror.

Grab this tissues for this one ladies because I can guarantee that you will need more than one! Ryan's Love by C.A. Harms is a heartwarming story of love lost and found in the most unlikely of ways. The sacrifice of what it means to truly love someone with all your heart, and that sometimes happily ever after's do happen. The amazing story of Ryan and Amber is one that you just CANNOT miss and I cannot wait for the next book in the Sawyer Brother's Series. Ryan's Love was a 4.5 star read for me and I highly highly recommend it to everyone who yearns for a good love story with a side of angst, realism, and humor! Amazing job to the author!

Ryan never imagines that he and his daughter Olivia would have to bury the heart of their family, her mother, his wife and best friend for as long as he could remember. Struggling to overcome the grief of her loss, years later, Olivia is the only reason that Ryan is able to get out of bed in the morning; well that is until Amber stomps her way into his life. The struggle to come to terms with the possibility of allowing someone else to enter his heart is one that Ryan must deal with daily as his feelings for Amber grow and his daughter Olivia becomes rebellious in the process.

Amber has moved to the Midwest after walking in on her fiancé with another woman. Packing up her life and her best friend, she decides to take a shot doing something the loves, baking and buys the bakery that her grandmother once owned. A city girl through and through, Amber begins to love the way of life that a small Midwest town can provide, especially the hottie cowboys that seem to pop up everywhere, although one in particular catches her eye.

Ryan begins to open his heart up again and be the man he was before his wife was tragically taken from him when he begins spending time with Amber. But a monkey wrench is thrown in when his daughter Olivia refuses to accept another woman in his life that isn't her mother. Will Amber and Ryan be able to overcome the obstacles that seem to stand in their way? Can love really conquer all or is it doomed from the start due to the circumstances? You will have to read this amazing story to find out.

Ryan's Love was the first book in the Sawyer Brothers Series. If you love a story about a sexy broody cowboy that has a heart of gold then this book is for you! I fell in love with Ryan and Amber both in this book. There love story was one to hold dear to your hearts and the tragedy that Ryan had to endure will forever leave a mark on my heart.

Through tragedy and broken hearts can these 2 find love again? Or is life to complicated for both of them to make things work, or better yet the baggage they both hold in there hearts to much to depart with?

I would give this book a 4 stars and would definitely recommend to others. I have read many of books by C.A. Harms and she has never failed me yet with her writing and sexy cowboys and she hit this one on the mark also.

I look forward to much more in the future from this author!
