Crazy how eight years can disappear in an instant. One look at Katie Watts, and I'm a fifteen-year-old again--the one who risked everything to save a terrified girl from her twisted kidnapper. She's grown-up now--beautiful, quiet, composed--and telling her story to the world. A story that involves me in more ways than you can imagine. She used to call me her guardian angel. Sure, I risked my life, but she was worth dying for.

I need to make contact with her. Just to ensure that she's safe.

Somehow we reconnect. We become friends . . . but I want more. I want to make her mine. And she wants me too. Does she know who I am? Has she figured me out? Not yet. But she will. In the meantime, I need to make sure that whatever hold that animal had on her is gone.

So, yeah, I'm stealing these moments with her. Savoring them. Knowing, dreading, that she'll soon find out who I really am. And everything will fall apart. All because of that twisted, perverted monster sitting on death row. Her kidnapper. A convicted serial killer.

My father.

Gah! Seriously?! Cliffy!

This book was intense. The love. The lies. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.

Katie and Ethan are tied together. More then even she could fathom.

Katie was kidnapped at 13. And Will, he became her knight in shinning armor. He saved her. And she hasn't forgotten him.

8 years later Katie is still trying to figure out how to be "normal", how to live, how to move forward and not be a stigma of her past. She survived a horrific event. How do you do that? How do you live and leave the past behind.

In swoops Ethan. Ethan makes her feel alive again, like nothing wrong ever happened to her, that she isn't damaged. But Ethan is hiding something.
So what happens when you find out that the one person who makes you feel has lied to you?

This is definitely a must read! I can not wait for the second book to see how this plays out. If Katie reverts back into her shell or if she is determined to remain unaffected and forge forward.

WOW! This book was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. It was heart breaking and evoked such emotions while reading, that it was a 4 star read for me and I highly recommend it to others. I will warn you that it is a cliffy and I CANNOT wait for the next book because I definitely need to know what happens with Katie and Ethan.

Katie and Ethan are tied together by an event from the past that Katie just wants to start to finally move forward from and Ethan has tried to distance himself from since he was fifteen. Katie and Ethan meet again, Katie who believes it is by chance and Ethan who has orchestrated the meeting in the first place. Ethan yearns to know if Katie is okay, and then he can walk away. But can he?

Katie is trying to finally move on with her life after a tragic event took away her childhood. After exposing herself on national television to try and rid herself of the demons that hold her back, she meets Ethan, a man that she finally opens up to and begins dating.

Will Ethan tell Katie the truth? With Katie forgive Ethan and the enormity of the secret he is carrying? Or will all of the progress that she has made go up in smoke?? You will have to read this amazing story to find out.
