Nate Thompson has met the heart-stopping girl of his dreams. There’s just one problem. The man who he just started to know as his dad is marrying her mom. Best possible solution? Join the Army. Go as far away as possible and stay as long as it takes to forget her. By the time he returns, she’ll be off the market, and he won’t have to deal with the untimely feelings he has for his new stepsister. At least, that was the plan.

Claire Carter is just trying to get through nursing school while maintaining a relationship with her uncommitted college boyfriend. Her immediate plan is to graduate, start a career and solidify her relationship status before Nate returns. Then these forbidden feelings for him will no longer matter.

But she promised to write to him while he was gone. How was she to know those letters would bring him home to her?

As a warm breeze drifted in from the lake, Nick – the man Nate was just beginning to know as dad, was dancing with his new bride, Maggie. They were surrounded by Nick’s buddies from the Air Force as well as close friends and even more family. To the left of the dance floor was Maggie’s son, Trevor, with his beautiful wife, Katie. As far as stepbrothers go, Nate couldn’t be happier with the connection they instantly made. He had already proven to be a great friend in the six months they had known each other.

As his eyes moved around the crowd, he immediately spotted Maggie’s daughter where she was dancing with Aspen, her college boyfriend. Aspen was droopy-eyed drunk, and his well-manicured hands were wandering a little lower than appropriate for a family wedding. But rather than intervene, Nate just watched from his hiding place under the tree. Besides, it was good entertainment watching Aspen and his many failed attempts at more than a kiss.

When the couple turned, he locked eyes with his new stepsister. She spotted him through the crowd, tilted her head and smiled. And just like every other time Claire Carter looked his way, his chest swelled and a now familiar burn blazed up his spine, causing a bead of sweat to appear on his brow. Fuck.

Breaking eye contact, Nate glanced at his watch, crumpled the plastic cup and tossed it in a nearby trash can before heading to the small corner bar. He needed something stronger than wedding punch to settle the pounding in his chest. Claire was officially under his skin, and she had only been his stepsister for six short hours. Time to douse the flame with something stronger or find somebody to share his
misery with.

I'm going to start this review by saying while this is a book three, and I do recommend reading the whole series, I was able to follow along without issue. I did not start on the other books until after I read Forbidden & Forever. This book had romance, a little bit of taboo (step-brother/step-sister romance), and a great story supported by characters that are realistic, and relatable. You want everything to work out for them, even if they did have a rough start.

Nate has fallen in love, but who is it? The daughter of the woman his dad is marrying. In order to deal with the situation, he joins the Army.

Claire can't get Nate out of her mind, but she can't be with him, and besides, she has a boyfriend. Her plan is to finish nursing school and to fall in love with her boyfriend. What is going to happen? Will they be able to forget their feelings forever? Can they keep running? You have to read to find out.

I highly recommend this book and give it 4.5 stars. One click it today.

Book 1: Broken & Beloved

Book2: Injury & Ecstasy

I'm a die hard romantic. I like all the hearts and flowers; all the hand holding and breathless kisses. My writing is straight forward feel-good romance. When I sit down to read I want to feel something inside, so I try very hard to give that to my readers as well. When I write, I like to disappear into a story and decide when the first kiss happens, or when the story climaxes and how the happily ever after will take place. It's fun to see how the voices in my head come to life on paper. I began writing as a creative outlet. Once the first book was finished, I realized there was much more waiting to come out.
