Release Week Blitz/Reviews: For The Record by K.A. Linde

With Congressman Brady Maxwell up for reelection and journalist Liz Dougherty about to graduate into a promising career, the ambitious couple’s future is brighter than ever. They share a passion for their work…and for each other. But when Brady holds a press conference to officially introduce Liz as his girlfriend, reporters hungry for a scandal bombard her. Now, her every move is under a vicious magnifying glass, and her life feels like it’s falling apart.

On the road to reelection, the passionate bond between the congressman and the journalist gets tested at every stop. Threatened by shameless media sensationalism and jealous exes, Brady and Liz now have to learn to trust each other despite what they read in the papers.

In the finale to USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde’s sexy Record trilogy, Liz and Brady may be setting off fireworks along the campaign trail, but can their love transcend politics as usual?

For The Record was the third and final book in the Record Series.  This book was my most anticipated release of 2014 and K.A. Linde hit it out of the park with this one.  I loved Brady and Liz from the moment I started reading Off The Record book 1 but I never in a million years thought I would crave the need to read more about Brady.. I seriously love him to pieces!  I would give this whole series a 5 star!  I am happy and sad to see this series end so bitter sweet for me!

Liz and Brady started out in book 1 Off the Record in a steamy secret love affair that ended up with Liz leaving so Brady could focus on his career and not have to worry about there secret love affair.  In book 2 On The Record shows how Brady and Liz are living there lives without each other, each trying to find something in other people that doesn't have to be secret, in the end of course there feelings and pull they have towards each other will win out and they end up together.  For The Record continues this crazy roller coaster love affair and it will give you insight into what Liz has gotten herself into by going public and how Brady deals with the campaign while sorting through his relationship.  In the end will they finally find a groove that works for them or will they go there separate ways?

This series will have your mind spinning and your panties melting.  Brady is one hot sexy politician and damn I want more of him.. FYI you will never get enough of him!  Thanks K.A. Linde for another fantastic series that blew off my socks!  Look forward to much more from you in the future!

For The Record by K.A. Linde is the much anticipated conclusion to the Record Series with the ever sexy Brady Maxwell and readers will be anything but disappointed when reading.  K.A. Linde has outdone herself again with this last book and it was a 4 star read for me.  I would recommend this series to everyone who loves a little bit of angst, few tears and much happiness and of course you can't forgo the political background to the plot.  If Brady was running for office I would be the first in line to cast my vote and I know that you will too!!

For The Record picks up right where the last book left off, with Brady declaring his relationship with Liv to the world.  No longer caring how it affected his political career and his future political aspirations, the only thing that Brady needs is to have Liv by his side, no longer hiding the love that he has for her and everything else can be handled.

As Brady begins to campaign for re-election, first dealing with the primary, there are many situations and obstacles that test the love and commitment that they have for one another.  Brady never falters and if you didn't fall for him completely in the first two books, you are sure to swoon throughout this one.  Liv begins to become a big part of his campaign this time around, stepping into the limelight standing at Brady's side while he shakes hands and kisses babies; even going as far as to assist him in writing his campaign speeches.  It is with them working together toward his goal of being re-elected that they become closer and stronger as a couple and the reader is able to see the love that they have for each other jump off of the page.

I was extremely glad that they got the happily ever after that I so badly wanted for them, but I also loved that it wasn't an easy road, they had to put in an effort to make their relationship work.  Brady and Liv weren't a storybook couple where everything was sunshine and roses which made their relationship so realistic and relateable as only K.A. Linde can do.

The epilogue was absolutely amazing and sad at the same time because I knew with each page I turned I became closer to having to close the book on two characters that I had come to love so much.  I promise that anyone who picks up this series will be glad that they did.  It is nice to read about characters that are out of the norm, Brady wasn't an MMA fighter, a billionaire CEO or a tattoo artist; he was a politician through and through and his life revolved around that.  How he found a way to balance his dreams with his love for Liv while also allowing her to work toward her dreams was a refreshing change of pace when reading.  I can't wait to read K.A. Linde's next series!

Sigh… Brady Brady Brady!  Finally in For the Record we get the conclusion to Brady and Liz’s story and it just made me fall for him even more, if I thought that was even possible! This series has become one of my favorites of the year and if you have not read it, you definitely need to check it out!  KA Linde does a masterful job of pulling you into the story and keeping you in Brady’s spell from start to finish! I am sad this is the last book but I felt I got so much from the story than what I expected.  The road for Brady and Liz was never an easy one and in the finally, the same hold true.  There are plenty of bumps and dips down the road of happiness but boy did I so enjoy the ride!

We pick up right were On the Record left off.  With Calleigh outing Liz as Brady’s mistress, he is determined to show the public they are a couple in love.  Liz is thrown through the ringer and is labeled the home wrecker and the reason why Brady split with his previous girlfriend.  Rumors upon rumors fly around Washington and North Carolina and Liz fears that she will cost Brady re-election.  She is unsure that if the negative press will do nothing but hurt him in the long run.

“You had to fight to get him and you’ve going to have to fight to keep him.  The lowest lows bring the highest highs. And when you find someone who brings you both, that doesn’t mean you should walk away: it means you have something special.”

With a new determination, she throws herself into his re-election.  But the negative backlash continues what she thought would be a dream job in the fall turns out to be more disappointment and a casualty of the fall out of her relationship going public.  With Brady by her side, she must dig deep to discover what is important to her and in the end.  When things start to look on the up side, some from Brady’s past makes an appearance and I wanted to strangle a bitch!  Not only does Liz have Calleigh working against her but now someone that she was clueless about threats to bring everything she has worked for to shambles.

Like I said, the road to happiness is not an easy one but end the end I was left in a big pile of mush!  Brady just melted my heart and left me wanting to find my own politician in a fitted three piece suit! Who knew politicians could be sexy!   I’ve always said KA Linde is one of my all-time favorite authors and she continues as being an automatic one click author for me!  I hope in the future we get some spin off novels or novellas because there are some amazing supporting casts in the novel and I would love to see their stories!  I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes that made me swooning and falling more in love with Brady.  5 red white and blue stars for me!

“Love sliced through him.  It held on tenaciously, never giving up even when he had wanted to give up.  It didn’t care about the past, present, or future.  And every day that he held on that searing emotion, he felt as though he was finally living.”

Make sure you go and check out the release party!
