Quint Lawson and Annie Weber heard that childhood song over and over and it never bothered them. Even though Quint was only five, Annie wasn’t just his neighbor. Quint and Annie have been inseparable since they were 5. Best friends eventually lead to them becoming more.
Annie has always been Quint's biggest cheerleader. There were only two things that mattered most to Quint: baseball and Annie.
When one of those get taken away it threatens to take away the other, leaving Quint all alone.
This was a good read. Annie starts to feel that her own life had become immensely wrapped in Quint's, leaving her unsure of what to do. Quint keeps reassuring her that they are a team, and what's his is hers. But when everything hits the fan, Annie is left trying to find her own identity.

The Shortstop was a story right up my alley. I love sports books and love books even more with hot baseball players! This story may not be for everyone because it isn't a chase for love kind of book.. its and everlasting love that can be lost in a blink of an eye because of a tragedy that strikes. I would give this book a 3.5 stars and would definitely recommend to others. Although I did like the story line and the basis for the story I felt at times it was a little drawn out in the story line. I may have wanted to throttle Quint and Annie a few times when the big bang happens but in the end I was pleasently happy. This is the first story I have story that I have read by this author but I look forward to much more in the future. Thanks for a good book!
Quint is your typical jock from kid on to adult hood and all he ever wanted was the love of Annie and the love of baseball. He gets everything he dreams of and in a blink of an eye it will all fade away.. will Quint and Annie be able to lead each other through the tragedy or loose their everlasting love they have built since children?
Annie feels lost in the shadows of Quint and would follow him anywhere, but she doesn't know what she wants to do with her life or better yet how her dreams can come a reality with the life she leads.. one thing she does know is she loves Quint deeply and when tragedy strikes she won't know what to make of her life anymore...
