Review: Animal by Nikki Rae

Ava has spent her life running from the monsters that lurk in the shadows, always the prey. She finally thinks she can settle down, have a normal life, and work on not being so scared of the world around her. That is until she runs into her worst fear.

He has finally found the potential family he has always wanted. All he has to do is make his little bird sing. Will Ava escape with her humanity intact?

4.5 stars!

Wow!

I am soooooo glad I picked this book up!

This may have been one of the more darker paranormal books I have read and I was NOT disappointed. At. All.

Ava. Ava, Ava, Ava. She is afraid of things that go bump in the night and for good reason. Her parents die in a house fire. Ava surviving, leaving her with just a cousin. She suffers PTSD and has anxiety. Again, all warranted. She finally succumbs to the darkness. It swallows her up whole.

The monster that takes her wants to make her his family. He is crude with rules. You think that at any moment he will break her will. She often leads him to believe that he has. But there is his companion who does his bidding and you can't help but root for him.

HEA? In a sense, yes. I will leave you with this:

Hope was worse than love.
