Review Tour: Rough & Raw by Hayley Faiman

Title: Rough & Raw
Series: Notorious Devils MC #2 Author: Hayley Faiman Genre: MC Romance Release Date: June 2016

Brentlee Johnson-Corbin has always followed her mother's rules, even when it meant marrying a man she knew wasn't her happily-ever-after.

Bates "Sniper" Lukin, a retired marine, now rides with the Notorious Devils—his street name earned in the deserts of hell.

When the most precious part of Brentlee's world is threatened by the man who was meant to love them, she escapes to the only safe place she knows. But when she seeks the shelter of her sister, Kentlee, and her husband, Fury, her past steps in—and he's determined to protect Brentlee and her daughter as his own.

Their story is one of love discarded, but Sniper won't waste this opportunity to right the wrongs of his past.

Life has been cruel to them both, and Brentlee is certain that the love they lost is gone forever; but under his protective wing, she can't deny that this rough and raw man might be just the hope she needs.

“I LOVE your writing and book two is even better than the first.” - Rambling from Beneath the Sheets
“Rough and Raw, this is absolutely the perfect title for this book. It was filled with raw emotion from the prologue.” - Reader Review
“If you like your heroes rough, and your journey to an HEA raw, then this is definitely a book for you!” - Author R.C Martin

Brantlee is in an abusive relationship but when her husband crosses the line and lays hands on their daughter, she knows it's past time to leave. She runs to the one person she knows will protect her, her sister Kentlee and her bad boy biker husband.

What she does not expect is to come face to face with the one true owner of her heart. Her childhood love, Bates aka Sniper. How was she do know the one place she could run would put her right back in his arms and under his protection?

Bates is well aware of all Brantlee's been through, he's been keeping watch since he returned from war. Now that she's back in his space, as much as he wants her to be his; his own demons may very well destroy them.

Rough & Raw is very much just that... a rough and raw read. It was gritty and at times a little hard to handle. As much as I am a sucker for a second chance love story, I was turned off by how many times Bates screwed things up with Brantlee. How harsh he was to her. And how many times she kept running back. Brantlee claims to be strong but Bates shows all the signs of being just as harmful as her ex. I get wanting to paint him to be a bad boy with rough edges, but between his harsh words and the fact that he repeatedly called Brantlee and other women, b*tches repeatedly, I had a hard time liking him. Even when he melted me with his softer side for Brantlee's little girl.

Still, I'd give this book a solid 3.5 stars and I'd recommend it to someone who doesn't mind a little rough around the edges reading.
