Maybe a few weeks together is just what they need to close the door on their past for good. But what if this time together has them second-guessing their choices? What if this time around they find something worth fighting for?

Poor Jocelyn. She has had a rough go at it. First, she suffers young heartbreak when the older man she falls in love with leaves town without even a goodbye. Then, she is betrayed by her fiancé, who also makes it his mission to tarnish her chances of fulfilling her dreams, and forces her to prove herself to the person who could hold her dreams in the palm of his hand.

One of those ways for her to prove her talent is to go to the small town she visited when she was younger. When she arrives, she comes face-to-face with her first love and the person who caused her first heartbreak, only for him to break it all over again when she finds he made a bit of a life he told her he never would: he had gotten married and had a kid.

This story is filled with twists and turns, explanations are given to explain actions, and love is shared all around. This one is filled with romance, second chances, and new loves. I enjoyed the story of Jocelyn and Jaxon, even though I wanted to smack him at times. These two loved each other and, after a bit of hard work, may just get their HEA.

Do you like romance? An emotional story? Good characters? you should check out This Time Around by J.C. Thompson. Jocelyn has not had an easy life when it comes to romance, and going to the town she visited as a kid was not something she necessarily wanted to do, but she went and found her first love, the first one who broke her heart. There is a lot of back and forth in this book, and I will admit that she got on my nerves at times, but I did like the story overall. 3.5 stars. It's a good story, but I felt like something was missing. 

J.C. is a West Coast girl living in a Tennessee world, where she lives with her husband, two kids, and small zoo. She loves 90’s country, anything dogs, wine, and coffee. J.C. loves getting lost in books by her favorite authors, even when she’s supposed to be writing. She loves baking, quilting, gardening, Traveling, and hanging out with her family and her dogs.
