Subject: You’re a flippin’ idiot
Good morning my dear, naive friend,
I hope you’re enjoying a breakfast of regret and sorrow.
Because you sent me to work for Dean Harper, aka a control freak in a tailor-made suit. Sure he owns the trendiest restaurants in NYC, but c'mon Jo, his ego makes Kanye West look like the Dalai Lama.
He's the type of guy that only hears the word “no” when it's followed by “don’t stop.”
Working for Dean Harper would be like selling my soul to the devil…and before you say anything, I don’t care if the devil has punch-you-in-the-gut brown eyes and an ass to match. My soul isn’t for sale.
The Allure of Dean Harper is a full-length standalone romance with overlapping characters from The Allure of Julian Lefray. Both books can be read separately. Chronologically, The Allure of Julian Lefray happens first.
The Allure of Dean Harper by R.S. Grey is the second book in the Allure Series and let me tell you it is a hot and steamy read. A story about a girl who is trying to start a life for herself knowing that it will take time to get to where she wants to be and a man who already has everything and thrives on the control of keeping it that way. This book was a 3.5 star read for me and I would recommend it to others.
Lily has a culinary degree and yearns to make something of herself in a world that is dominated by men. When she moves to New York City to be with her best friend Jo and start her career she never anticipates that it will be so difficult. Taking a bartending job in order to pay her bills while she gets her dream job, Lily doesn't anticipate that she will lose that job in the first night despite her above stellar performance, nor does she anticipate the asshole owner that is her best friend Jo's boyfriends best friend Dean. But in a surprising change of events, Lily is offered a job from Dean that is something she has always wanted. What she didn't want is to not be taken seriously, which is something Dean shows her on a daily basis while rejecting one idea after another. A relationship started from convienence soon turns to one so advesary that Lily isn't sure it is worth it to stay, but she continues to hold her head high and show Dean that he doesn't get to her, although that couldn't be farther from the truth. How will this business relationship built on mutual hate turn out for Lily and Dean? You will have to read to find out.
I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things...everyday.
I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things funny. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
