Prologue
Jeremy Ellison sat on a
dirty bed in an even dirtier motel room with his head in his hands, wondering
how he ended up here. He’d had her; he was almost able to take the one thing
Anthony currently wanted. After pulling himself from the water, he didn’t know
what to do or where to go. This was a first for him. He’d lost everything.
Everything. He had no laptop, no pictures, nowhere to go, and most importantly,
no money.
Sighing, he reached over for
the newspapers he had purchased, somewhere in there he’d find what he was
looking for. Some old lady from the society pages who had more money than
brains. Some way to make a quick buck so that he’d be able to move on to bigger
and better things. It was a scam he had perfected over the years. Money and
items that he could quickly sell would be his. It was what had afforded him the
lifestyle he loved so much, and giving the old ladies a thrill, well, it was
the least he could do.
He wanted to scream when he
saw his picture and the story about him, staring back. A smaller photo of
Anthony and Evie mocked him. They were coming for him; they were all coming for
him. Pounding his fists on the bed, his head shook back and forth, his mouth
opened in a silent scream.
~*~
She sat in the grimy motel
room clutching her wig in her trembling hands, staring at the room across the
parking lot where she saw him enter a while ago. She never expected to come
across him after all this time. It took everything she had not to knock on the
door and send the bastard straight to hell. She knew he deserved more pain and
putting a bullet in him would be too quick. Now that she knew where he was, she
could plan. She had to have a plan. Everything had to be in order. The ending
would have to be perfect, exactly what he deserved.
Her hands shook as she
thought of what she’d have to do to him, but she hadn’t come this far to back
out now.
Glancing at her watch, she
knew she had to hurry, she wanted to get back to her files on Jeremy. Now that
she knew exactly where he was she needed to make sure everything was up to date
and she had all the information on him. Slowly she put the wig back on and
walked out of the room into the sunlight. She casually dropped her purse near
his car where she attached a tracking device. Picking up her things, she put
them back in her purse, then stood up and walked away, never looking back.
“I was spellbound the
moment I saw you. There couldn’t be any other but you. I spent days, weeks even
years, looking for you. Everywhere we used to go, I’d go. I’d think I saw you
only to be disappointed when it wasn’t you. Even when I was traveling through
Europe six months ago, I was still looking for you. I never gave up.” -

Caught in
the Storm is the third book in the
Storm series. It was a nice continuation of the story line that connects the
three books and couples. If you haven't read the first two books, After the Storm and Eye of the Storm, you will be pretty much lost because it just
won't make sense to you without the back story.
In book two we learned that Lexi's body guard Kat, was actually a victim
and had her own agenda and reasons for being on Lexi's security detail. It also
hinted at a past relationship with Evie's brother, Jackson. Thankfully,
all of the questions were answered that left the reader hanging in the previous
books.
The story is told from the
POV of Kat, Jackson, Jeremy and a mystery women named Dana. I had assumed that
this would be the last book in the series, but now I am not so sure. Although,
everything pertaining to Lexi and Noah, Evie and Anthony, and Kat and Jackson, was
resolved, this mystery women throws a wrench in that because she, herself, is a
mystery.
Kat is still very traumatized
by what Jeremy did to her, and she is understandably determined to destroy him.
As the story unfolds, bridges are
mended, friendships are forged and love is in the air.
"... you matter more
to me than any kind of revenge. Because I know killing, him won’t change
anything. Because I’m not that person. I couldn’t kill anyone. It wasn’t who I
used to be. Jackson, I want to be her again. I want you to know the carefree
girl I used to be. I want us to have a future together. I was so caught up I
couldn’t see anything else but ending what mattered most to him, his life.”

This book was good but I didn't feel the same intensity
as I did with the first two books and I feel as though the ending was kind-of
anti-climatic. It also seemed a bit shorter than its predecessors but it was
enjoyable and I am glad that I was given a chance to read and review.

I am sad this
is the last book in the Storm series but it’s also a thrilling end to one of my
favorite series! M Stratton does a phenomenal job on things that should
be creeping me the fuck out but I’m turning the pages like a mad woman to see
what happens next! If you have not read the first two books, they are
serious MUST READS!
From the
previous books, we now Jeremy is on the run. He’s been hiding out and
keeping a low profile but keeping always one step ahead of everyone else.
In the third book we are have Kat and Jackson. Kat is the lone victim
that was able to escape from Jeremy many years ago. Jackson is the kind
and loving guy that we all just love to love. He and Kat have been previously in
a relationship years ago… until the day she just up and left. Fate has
brought them back together in the hunt for Jeremy. The old feelings
are there but will they act on them or will Kat fight to keep her priorities in
order, which do not include falling for Jackson again. All the usual
characters make appearances and I gotta love the troublesome trio, they are
still up to no good!
In the
hunt for Jeremy also introduces a new player to the game. She also has
her own agenda and she will stop at nothing to seek the revenge she has been
searching for. I don’t know why, but this series has me wanting more for the
deep disturbed thoughts. M Stratton gets you inside of their heads and
leaves me speechless! I seriously hope we get more from this character
because I’m so intrigued by her. I want to know everything about her and
what has led her to the point when we met her in this novel.
I love a
novel that takes you through every emotion and M Stratton does just that!
She can make you laugh and then she can make your skin crawl but then she adds
the cherry to the top and gives us also a steamy romance. This series has
made me a huge fan of the authors and I cannot wait to see what else she has in
store for us now this series is complete.

What happens when the
hunter
becomes the hunted
Caught In The Storm is
book 3 in the storm series. Even though this book is about other
characters in the story than the first two it still follows the same story line
so it can not be read as a standalone. Its told in multiple POV's.
I know sometimes that can get confusing but not at all in this story.
This was a brilliant ending to this crazy amazing story. I have to tell
you I have never read a story that I am in such awe of how the author can write
the bad guy part, and let me tell you this man was a sick and twisted bastard,
but damn if M. Stratton didn't nail the sick and twisted mind of him.
This series will blow your mind, it has so many twists and turns it gets
your head spinning. I have to say I loved the fact that each book was
about a different couple in the story. You normally have wait from most
authors for the side characters stories but M. Stratton was freaking amazing at
how she pulled it off. I really don't want to spoil the story at all
especially for anyone that hasn't read the first 2, or is patiently waiting for
this book because they want closure like I did, so I will make this short and
sweet!
This was Jackson and Kat's story.. you find out more about
these two even though you have met them in the other books. I absolutely
loved Jackson from book 1, but I can't say I have always loved Kat. She
did finally grow on me in this book and after you read it you will see why.
Kat had a huge secret that is finally revealed in this book, and it
bring her character into a better light and it will bring Jackson's character
out more too. They discover things about each other and try to make
things work around all the obstacles. There is also a new character that
is brought into the story but I won't tell you much about he/she because he/she
has a hell of a lot to do with how things finally end. You also find out
way more details about the sick bastard (yes I don't use his name cause he is
vile and I wanna hurt him terribly).
Just know that even though I will not giveaway the ending I was a little
disappointed that only 1 person got the joy and not the whole group. You
will understand what that means when you read the story.
Go get it now! I would rate this whole series 5 stars!
I will leave you with some of my favorite lines from this
book.
Kat- It felt good to move,
better than she thought it would. Glancing at Jackson out of the corner
of her eye, she also had to admit that dancing with him had awoken something in
her she thought was long dead.
Jackson- Jackson
turned and walked out of the room. He hated to see Kat so traumatized.
When he got to the landing on the second floor, he looked up the stairs
to the third, knowing she was up there--alone, facing her demons. He
wanted so badly to be up there with her.
Kat and Jackson- "Where
do we go from here?" She was scared. Scared of what he was
going to say. Could she do it? It would mean losing control,
something she had grown to depend on. It was the only thing she had.
If she controlled everything, nothing would be a surprise.
He tightened his arms around her. "Sweetheart,
wherever we want to go."
