Emily McCarthy is living in fear of a dark and dangerous past. A gifted mathematician, she is little more than a hollow, broken shell, trying desperately to make ends meet long enough to finish her degree.

Through an unlikely friendship with the aging, cantankerous owner of an old boxing gym, Em is thrown into the path of the most dangerous man that she has ever met.

Cormac “the Hurricane” O’Connell is cut, tattooed and dangerous. He is a lethal weapon with no safety and everyone is waiting for the mis-fire. He’s never been knocked out before, but when he meet Em he falls, HARD. Unlike any other girl he’s ever met, she doesn’t want anything from him. Just being around her makes him want to be a better person.

They are polar opposites who were never meant to find each other, but some things are just worth the fight.

The Hurricane is another fabulous fighter book that I would give a 4 stars!  This is the first book I have read by R.J. Prescott but she has made me a big fan so I will be following her for a long time to come.  When I decide to read a book the cover and the blurb/synopsis are what pull me in and I feel like R.J. definitely pulled through on this one for me.  The other most important thing for me is I have to catch something intriguing within the first 2 chapters because if not i will find myself skimming the book.. well I feel this was also delivered well because I was pulled into this crazy world of Emily and Cormack immediately and even though some will say this is an insta-love kind of book I didn't really get that feeling.. there was friendship first and it built to so much more.  The main characters both have demons from there past and even though they are so different R.J. will make you feel there connection through the pages and there need and want for each other.  I have to also say I laughed out loud multiple times while reading this book and that would come mostly from the side characters being so strong that you will find yourself saying man I hope they get there own story.  In all I have to say this book will fulfill all of your expectations and having you begging for more.

Emily is running from her past, she stays low key and doesn't really associate with people outside of the diner she works at, when she gets an offer to do some bookkeeping at a local gym her life will start to feel normal again.. but it was also get turned upside down when she makes a connection with one of the fighters at the gym --Cormack.

Cormack has his own past to deal with but using fighting as and outlet.. but when he finally builds up the courage to meet the sexy woman he see's working at the diner his world will change and he will do everything he can to make his career be on top, but what he doesn't expect is to fall hard and fast for a woman he barely knows but he knows she needs protecting but he isn't sure from what.

When there past are revealed can these two make it work or will Emily run away again?

Go get this book you will not be disappointed and I can't wait for more from this author!

I was born in Cardiff, South Wales although I left to study law at the University of Bristol, England. Four weeks before graduation I fell in love, and stayed. Ten years later I convinced my crazy, wonderful fire fighter husband to move back to Cardiff with me where we live with our two equally crazy sons. Juggling work, writing and family doesn’t leave a lot of time, but curling up on the sofa with a cup of tea and a bar of chocolate for family movie night is definitely the best part of my week. “The Hurricane” is my debut New Adult Novel.
