Cold Fury Hockey Series

New Adult Contemporary

Released October 14, 2014

Published by LoveSwept (Random House)

Hockey star Alexander Crossman has a reputation as a cold-hearted player on and off the rink. Pushed into the sport by an alcoholic father, Alex isn’t afraid to give fans the proverbial middle finger, relishing his role as the MVP they love to hate. Management, however, isn’t so amused. Now Alex has a choice: fix his public image through community service or ride the bench. But Alex refuses to be molded into the Carolina Cold Fury poster boy . . . not even by a tempting redhead with killer curves.

As a social worker, Sutton Price is accustomed to difficult people—like Alex, who’s been assigned to help her create a drug-abuse awareness program for at-risk youth as part of the team’s effort to clean up his image. What she doesn’t expect is the arrogant smirk from his perfect lips to stir her most heated fantasies. But Sutton isn’t one to cross professional boundaries—and besides, Alex doesn’t do relationships . . . or does he? The more she sees behind Alex’s bad-boy façade, the more Sutton craves the man she uncovers.

Alex is book 1 in the A Cold Fury Hockey series and it was an amazing sexy read.  I would give this book a 4.5 stars.  I was drawn like a moth to light the very beginning to the very last page.  I have read many stories by Sawyer Bennett and this one proves just how amazing of a writer/author she is.  This book comes complete with passion, darkness, angst and a whole lot of naughty.  Alex's character was by far one of my favorite male characters I have read in quite sometime.  The cover of this book alone made me swoon hardcore, the unbuttoned pants and yummy muscles holy freaking hotness!  I am not a huge fan of hockey but this book made me want to be!

Alex has played hockey most of his life but because of his father's past behavior it makes Alex hate the game.  He see's it as a paycheck nothing more... he is hated because he could care less about the game or his fans.. he is known as the playboy but they keep him because he is damn good at his job.
Classic! I'm the player they love to hate, and I could give a fuck.  I come out... do my duty, score my goals and get my assists, collect my paycheck and past that, just leave me they fuck alone.-- ALEX

His life will change when he is handed and ultimatum to either loose his unfriendly ways and help out with children in need or be kicked from the team... he starts to see things in a new light.. or is just Sutton the woman that captivated him the moment he walked into her office .... the woman who will be his salvation.. but can he changes his ways for just one person.. or will his past keep him from moving forward?

"Sutton... I don't know what this is... between us.  But I know it's something.  I know its pulling me, and trust me when I tell you... nothing has pulled at me in a long time."
"I feel it too," I admit in a whisper.
"Then let's see where this goes," he says confidently,
and I'm nodding my head in agreement even as I say, "Okay."
SUTTON AND ALEX

Go get this book now!  You will not be disappointed and I can't wait for the next book Garrets story!

Sawyer Bennett is becoming one of my favorite authors; and I love her stories about hockey players!  I was enraptured by the Off Series and I am now hooked on the Cold Fury Hockey Series where I am dying to know who the next book will surround.  Alex was a 3.5 star read for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the quirks of his character and how he interacts with Sutton in every situation.  I recommend that everyone pick up the first book in this series because you will not be disappointed!

Alex Crossman is the MVP of the Cold Fury, but he is anything but your typical hockey player.  With a talent that few possess, he dominates that ice playing a sport that he hates, refuses to engage with the fans that scream for him at every game and ignores his teammates whether they win or lose.  He is a self proclaimed prick.  All of that seems to begin to shift when he is forced to work on his attitude and image by sponsoring a drug and alcohol program with Sutton Price.

Sutton Price knows absolutely nothing about hockey, but she does know a smoking hot, sexy and confident guy when she sees one.  And boy is Alex Crossman all of those things and more.  With an attraction that she hasn't felt for anyone is years, if ever, she forces herself to put those feelings on the back burner to keep their relationship professional.  Starting this program has been her dream, stemming from a childhood spent with a drug addict father who still hasn't gotten his life together.  She knows that with the backing of a national hockey team, the dream that seemed so far is now within reach.

And so begins the friendship of Alex and Sutton.  The manner in which Sutton interacts with Alex is like no one ever has before and it is her manner that has him begin to question many things about himself.  He begins to like a game that he has hated for so long and even begins to forge friendships with a couple of his teammates.  They begin to fall for each other, Sutton falling first and putting her heart on the line and Alex questioning every feeling he has for her and what it will mean for his life and his career.  What comes about will only make you laugh at times, get angry with both of them in others and have you wanting to shake them both to wake up and see what is in front of them!  This book is a must read.  I am hoping that Garrett's book is next because I really did love his character!

USA Today Best-Selling author, Sawyer Bennett, is a snarky southern woman and reformed trial lawyer who decided to finally start putting on paper all of the stories that were floating in her head. She is married to a mobster (well, a market researcher) and they have two big, furry dogs who hog the bed. Sawyer would like to report she doesn’t have many weaknesses but can be bribed with a nominal amount of milk chocolate.
