If you follow my reviews, you will know my new favorite thing to read are serial novellas.  I just love them!   A nice short story that packs a punch and you don’t need to spend hours investing in a novel.  Filthy is the third novella in the third book in the Fierce Series by Clarissa Wild.  Ms. Wild’s other novels have piqued my interest so when the opportunity came for this series, I was all over it.  I have to admit this is definitely a hot one but for overall content it was just lacking for me.   I almost felt the story was too cliché and I wanted it to have something unexpected but found the story very predictable.  If you are looking for a quick read that has the some smoking hot scenes in it this will definitely fit the bill.

 

Jaret is the ultimate playboy, he doesn’t give a second thought about who his latest conquest is.  He put on a show, an illusion that he has the money and the power to get what he wants. 

 

“Usually, I don’t even know their names.  Heck, I don’t even remember the name of the girl who’s on her knees in front of me right now.”

 

There is only one girl for him and he hasn’t seen or heard from her in years.  She’s the one who got away and all others after her don’t even compare to her.   She’s always on his mind and every girl is replaced by images of her.   After a night out, Jaret decides to head to the local stip bar and gets more than he bargained for when the dancer that appears is the only one he dreams about.  Lin didn’t have the life that Jaret had.  She had to work hard for what she wanted and when things got rough, she turned to dancing to pay off her debts.   Jaret sees this a second chance for them and wants to pick up where they left off.

 

“I’ve found you again and I’m not letting go easily.  I’m done being a loser. I’m done doing nothing.  I’m done wasting my life.  I fucking waited for something that never happened, instead of going after it myself.”

 

Their story unfolds rather quickly and Jaret and Lin find themselves at a cross roads.  Lin is a strong independent women and that doesn’t ask for handouts. She wants to be able to find her own path on her own.  Can Jaret convince her with him is where she belongs? Can Jaret give up his lifestyle for her?  This is one that you could read in under an hour that will definitely has the hotness factor going on.  3 ½ stars for me.  

 

 

 

Filthy is a short novella that packed a bit of a punch. This is a story about love lost and found.  It's  also about honesty, making better choices, defending those you care for and  seeking personal freedom.

Jaret grew up in a privileged home. He was raised by the staff while his parents were busy and somewhat detached.  He made a good friend named Lin.  They made wonderful memories together.  Their lives took different courses.  They parted physically but a timeless bond was made during their time shared.

Jaret is behaving in a naughty yet FILTHY manner using girls non stop. He is living a semi meaningless life. He's not got much direction until he meets up with a special girl from his past.  She is in a bind and could use a good friend.  She gives him something he's been missing, a purpose.

Will they pick up where they left off? Can they relate given their personal struggles over the years?

I wasn't completely emotionally invested in this book. I would encourage the author to focus on drawing more emotional appeal into her future stories. She has writing talent that is obvious. I would enjoy them even more if they had that extra umph.

This story was full of spice, grit and heart. I give Filthy 3 and a Half STARS!   I enjoyed Jaret's story it was realistic and a bit sad.
