However, there is one thing for certain; you haven't ever read this type of story before. Blyss is an original, one of a kind storyline in theme, circumstance, and character action.

You will definitely need all three books in order to put together the pieces of this puzzle, but isn't that what makes reading fun? Book one sets the stage while you begin to embrace the thrill, the suspense, and the anticipation. There is a romance story amongst all the turmoil…you will just have to hang on for the ride.

“I’ll never be done trying to escape. You have no right to do this to me,” I hiss.

He begins stalking toward me, and I find myself shrinking away from his advancing form; so much for renewed determination. With my back pressed into the wall, I try my damnedest to meld into it, to disappear, but it doesn’t work. I start sliding my body along the wall to try to escape him, until he has me caught in the corner. My heart begins to pound loudly against my breast bone. He’s taunting me with his dominating power as he slowly trails me; his eyes portray a hungry wolf getting ready to devour his trapped prey.

“Even if you thought you could escape, which you can’t, we have cameras in every place imaginable,” he states matter-of-factly. “We’re so good; we can hear you devising a plan before you can even act on it.”

I blink hard, shaking myself from the shock, and start running scenarios through my mind of where they would hide cameras. I gasp, horrified to think...no...I shake my head and whisper with incredulity, “You guys watch me use the bathroom?”

Travis chuckles, finding my mortification amusing, and lifts a brow. “I did say everywhere, sweetheart.” He then takes another step towards me, and I can do nothing at this point. Being pinned in the corner, with my back to the wall, I’m a helpless victim. My heart sinks to my toes as I slide my body down the wall and curl myself into a tiny ball, trying to feel safe. The fear I feel has me losing my breath, and the moment my bottom comes into contact with the cold tile floor, I hug my knees to my chest. It’s my only defense at this point.

 

 

 

I want to give you a warning. For those of you who are into dark reads like I

 am, this one is a little different. It isn't a dark read like you are used to.

 Yes, it has darkness but just keep that in mind while you read.

 

In the first book of Blyss the author has done a tremendous job of setting the scene for the following books to come in this trilogy. You will be left wondering many things, but believe me it is worth it because the truth always comes out in the end.

 

The first person you meet in Blyss is Julianna a.k.a. Jules, she is the daughter of a rich, powerful man and he demands that she comes to visit for a few months over the summer. He has planned an extravagant 21st birthday party for her. She leaves her fiancé, Adam and goes on a visit that she will NEVER, EVER forget.

 

"Lance, you don't seem to comprehend what I'm saying here; I have my orders from the boss. One week is seven days too long, and the time has come. We're taking Julianna, and we're taking her tonight. I don't need your fucking permission. The boss wants her, and he wants her now. He always gets what he wants." -Unknown man

 

She is taken from her father's home to an unknown location with people she

 assumes she has never met before. This is where she meets Travis and Nick.

 Travis is the one to "train" her, Nick's right hand man. Nick is the one that

 wants her and will have her.

 

Travis is the first person that she sees and actually has a slight attraction

 to, even though she's scared out of her mind, she gravitates towards him. It

 also helps that the man is drop dead gorgeous with emerald green eyes and deep, dark brown hair. Swoon! But let's not lose our minds already by letting our hormones get the best of us. She learns that she has been given the ultimate aphrodisiac that turns women into the perfect companion and submissive. This could be why she has this attraction with Travis, her safe keeper. In the back of her mind she is questioning why is she feeling this way when she is engaged to someone else. Has she completely lost her damn mind?

 

Nick stalks into her room and immediately she's afraid of him. His very presence seems to reek of authority and arrogance.

 

"What's the matter, Princess? You don't seem as rambunctious as you did last

 night. Surely you haven't given up the will to fight. I live for girls who

 misbehave. I love the naughty ones." -Nick

 

"I sit here mute and frozen before him. I think the lion is toying with his

Do I have your attention now? Yes, this book is all kinds of good and you

seriously need to get your #oneclick on and buy it and get into the authors mind and lose yourself. You won't regret it.  This is the author's debut book and you wouldn't think so reading it. She really grabs your attention and keeps the pace going throughout the whole entire book. I give Blyss 5 aphrodisiac stars!!!

 

 

Speechless....the only way I can describe myself as I turned the last page of Blyss by J.C. Cliff.  It was a roller-coaster ride from the very first page until the last word typed and I was happily along for the ride.  The emotions that are evoked while reading this story range from sadness, to anger, to disbelief, back to anger and then to hope.  Every reader out there who enjoys a good romance, with a hint of dark, or as the author describes it grey, with a twist needs to run, not walk but run to scoop up this amazing book!  This debut book is amazing and has you salivating for more when you are finished!  Amazing job J.C.!!

 

Jules is a complex character with many sides, a little bit naive, a lot sweet, and feisty with a fighter instinct that we all hope will help her out in the end.  She is easy to relate to and the reader can see themselves as her while they are reading, reacting in many the same ways that she did.  Jules is from a well off family, spending the summer away from her fiance who is the love of her life, with her father.  Looking forward to her birthday party where she gets to see Adam after too long apart, Jules hopes that her summer won't be too boring.  And boring is probably what she should have wished for.  One night after hearing an argument between her powerful father and another man she is taken from her home and brought to an unknown place.  It is there that she is introduced to Travis, who will be her trainer, who she is strangely drawn to while fearing at the same time and Nick who has watched her from afar for years, waiting for just the right time to take what he wanted into his possession; and what he wanted was Jules.

 

Travis is drawn to Jules for some unknown reason and although he has an extremely rough exterior at times with Jules, the reader falls for the softer side that he shows her when they are alone.  He struggles slightly with his feelings and resulting actions towards Jules, as he is treating her differently than the other woman that he has trained while on Blyss, making them ready, willing and able to participating in whatever type of kink their masters might want.

 

The reader is drawn to the fight or flight mentality that Jules tries to maintain while being held against her will at this extremely hi-tech facility. And the reader almost does a fist pump with every time she has a small victory in keeping true to herself all the while wishing and hoping that her father and Adam are doing everything possible and maybe even some of what seems to be impossible to find and rescue her from this nightmare.  She desperately searches for a way around taking the body and mind altering drug Blyss so that she can keep her wits about her and hold on to the hope that this isn't her forever, that she will be able to return back to her life in the very near future.

 

Although this book ends in a very serious cliff hanger, the reader is left sighing, sitting on the edge of their seat completely ready for the next book in this completely unconventional series.  You have a desire to find out more about the panty-dropping allure of Travis and the statistical thoughts of Nick.  this book has everything anyone could possibly want in a book, leaving you yearning for more and more as you turn each page.  Everyone needs to take a on chance on Blyss because the bliss that you will feel when the book is finished will most definitely be worth it. 

I had a BLYSSFULL time reading this captive romance that is full of intrigue, mystery, forbidden passion and suspense. It had me entranced from start to finish. It is simply a one of a kind dynamic read!. I give it 5 STARS- If you are  looking for something a bit unique give this a click.


My emotions were all over with this story. I felt bad for Julianne's predicament. I found Nick's actions despicable but liked his dashing refined look. And Travis, oh my what can I say- holy hotness. Here's the 411!

Julianna Oakley was born into a life of privilege but prefers to live like a normal girl. She's a student in college and in a committed relationship. That is until her life is turned upside down. And I mean BAM!

"I felt butterflies fluttering in my belly, and I've never been more confused in my life I'm not sure what all that mean."

Travis is a hired guard for Nick's company. He is confident, dominant and assertive. He may have his reasons for associating with this company and carrying out their immoral demands. Essentially he's a trainer and he's very effective at this task. He is able to stay detached that is til a feisty girl has him second guessing his ways.


Nick is in control of an empire. He is an entrepeneur calls the shots and funds a special program that studies and produces a substance that has effects in mind control and relaxed sexual inhibitions. He obviously has a screw loose if he thinks this is acceptable.

Travis simply does his job. But along the way lines get blurred. Feelings are awakened. Julianna is forced into submission but fights it. Nick watches closely and is forced to take matters into his own hands.

How will Julianna deal with her circumstances? Will Blyss ruin her? Will she fall for one of her captors? Find out, get hooked on Blyss....

J.C. Cliff has remarkable talent. She has crafted an original plot for us to sink our teeth into. It keeps you on your toes and on the edge of your seat. It is unpredictable, engaging and fast paced. The characters are well developed and hold this complex story together from start to finish. I could picture the imageryof the story so vividly.

This book had me feeling sad for Jules. Even though she is in a compromising situation she may be learning more about herself now than she's learned in the last 20 or so years.

I am eager for  Blysfull Lies Book 2. I'll be reading that.....

 

 

 

J.C. Cliff is an independent author who strives to deliver a strong story line, keeping the reader captivated throughout. She loves the element of surprise, creating unique twists and turns while creating thrill and suspense. Oh yes, and lets not forget, making a little explicit romance happen in between.

She's a die hard 80's rock'n roll fan, loves the ocean and salt water fishing. What does she do when she's not raising kids, running a business, and doing all the tasks that come with being a wife and mother? You got it - writing.
