When it comes to relationships, I have really bad luck. Each time I meet a guy, I cross my fingers and hope he is at least half way normal. I’m so tired of dealing with crybabies and freak shows that I could just scream. At this point, I’m so close to just joining a convent, taking the vow of chastity, and calling it quits with men entirely. Well, I probably don’t need to go to that extreme... I mean who am I kidding? There's no way could I be a nun. But becoming an old crotchety lady with 20 cats lurking around? Now THAT is a definite possibility. That was until I saw him, my brown-eyed stallion man, swooping in to save me from an unforeseen wrinkly old balls attack, and then... he is gone. Well, not gone completely, because I can’t stop fantasizing about him.
I fantasize about him so much that when I finally did see him again, I made a complete and total ass of myself. Several times in fact. How I did not drop dead of embarrassment right then and there is beyond me.
So, remember I said I have really bad luck? Well, sit back, grab a glass of wine or your favorite mixed drink, and let me tell you how it all started, and how it all ends...
Sasha is book one in the Mixed Drinks Series. This story is told in one person POV. I would recommend this book to others but it was not one of my favorite stories to read, it seemed a little rushed and at times that the information that was given to you in Sasha's POV was a little teenage like when she is supposed to be 24 years old. But in all there was a good plot and I think it earned a 3.5 stars. I did find it humorous on multiple occasions and I did really like Bash the main male character and my only wish was to have a little of his POV thrown in the story. This is the first book I have read by Rae Matthews and I will continue to follow her and see what else she has up her sleeves.
Sash is bartender and loves her job, her only problem in life is that she can't seem to find a man that is worthy in bed or in her heart. When she is working one night one of her regular customers gets a little unruly and his grandson comes to her rescue... and he is gorgeous. She finds herself daydreaming about him all the time and wonders if she will ever see him again. When she goes to a beach party a couple weeks later she finds herself face to face with the man that has been haunting her dreams. His name is Bash and he is even more gorgeous in person. From that moment there is an instant spark and there love story will begin. But when she realizes that maybe Bash is hiding a secret she will start to be concerned... And when the secret is revealed her life seems to stop and anxiety takes over. Can she live with his secret or will her fairy-tale love story come to a hault.
This review is short and sweet but you should read it, it will give you a good laugh and steam your kindle at times. So go pick it up and enjoy you some Bash!
Rae Matthews is a Minnesota native who moved to Wisconsin in 2002 for a guy of all things. I mean, who does that and doesn't live to regret it.
