Two stories so deeply intertwined, you’ll think you know how they intersect…but you’ll be wrong….

Zack Martin
The day I met Emily Bennett my whole world changed. Sure, we were just kids, but I was old enough to know my life would never be the same. She was my best friend. My destiny. My fate. I wasn’t wrong…I just didn’t know how twisted fate could be.

Nikki Fallon
After the death of my mother, moving from my dark and dreary trailer park to sunny California, I was focused on one thing – finding a sister I’d only just learned existed. Falling in love with him wasn’t part of the plan. But he filled a void I never knew was possible to fill. He had to be my fate. My destiny. Until the day I finally found out who my sister was…and how twisted fate could be.

He looks up and I watch his eyes take me in.  Slowly.  They rake over me, dropping from my eyes to my glossed lips down to my exposed shoulders.  Taking his time, he follows the neckline of my simple, yet body contouring sundress, lingering when he reaches my full breasts.  I’m sufficiently covered, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t aware that the dress showed off my assets well.  Tight around my chest, gathering snuggly at the waist, with a scant amount of cleavage.  Just enough coverage to still leave something for him to imagine.  And I watch his face change as his imagination takes off running.
His eyes drift down my legs, tanned now from the eternal California sun.  Momentarily he’s lost in what he sees and doesn’t even notice I’m watching him leer.  Totally worth the extra effort getting ready tonight, I couldn’t be happier at the reaction I get.  Eventually, his eyes make their way back up to mine and I arch one eyebrow, letting him know he’s been caught.  A normal reaction might be to look embarrassed or perhaps even flustered a little.  But not Zack.  Instead, he flashes me a wicked grin.  “You look incredible.”  He’s the one doing the leering, yet I’m the one who ends up blushing.

Stars can't shine without a little darkness.

I am sure most people have a read a book that has touched them emotionally and physically and this book did that to me.  I was blown away by this story.  I have read many books by Vi Keeland but not many by Dylan Scott..today that will change.  This story is about tragic loss and tragic love.  It made me believe that you truly can have more than one soul mate no matter what tragedy brought the two together.  I would give this book a solid 4 stars.  This is a standalone no cliffhanger book, I was for one was truly greatful for that.  It is told in dual POV's of Zack and Nikki.  If you haven't picked this book up you need to do it ASAP!

Zack has suffered a loss of his girlfriend and he is only in highschool, he doesn't know how to move on and he blames himself for her death.  He struggles everyday with the guilt and eventually its all he can think about.  When a new girl comes into the picture Nikki, he will finally for the first time in over a year will feel a spark for another girl but will the guilt of his loss hold him back?

But being near Nikki makes me feel.  It's not just in my head either.  It's physical too.  A draw, a pull, and energy that zaps me back from the land of numb.  Even the slightest touch, a simple handshake, brings me back to life.-- ZACK

Nikki has also suffered a tragic loss of her mother, she fears that she will be thrown into the system because she isn't quite 18 yet and has no family that she is close too.  When an Aunt comes forward Nikki's life of being poor and living in a trailer will change drastically when she is moved into a big house and finally finds out secrets from her past.  When she meets to broody Zack she feels the spark as well, but Nikki doesn't know his secrets and he doesn't know hers.

I don't know how Zack and I found each other, but it's the first time in my life that I'm starting to wonder if there really is such a thing as fate.  Before now, fate was an escape...a fantasy, something that only happened in movies and books, where people paid for a happily every after.  Now I wonder if maybe, just maybe, I wound up here for a reason.-- NIKKI

Darkness surrounds both of them and they are both in search of what will help them out of that darkness, but they will soon realize that maybe they can help eachother and start living again.  But when secrets are revealed there will be consequences and sometimes the consequences are to much of a battle ... will there connection win out or will they both feel left behind?

This book was seriously amazing and I would recommend it to all... you need to get this now!  I will be following both authors and look forward to much more in the near future hopefully!  You will need some tissues there are some seriously sad parts but the book will be so worth in the end.

Left Behind by Vi Keeland was a story so moving and filled with emotion that I was unable to put it down until I turned the very last page.  For any of you Vi Keeland fans out there, Left Behind, is a story so different than any of her other books, but just as amazing, if not more.  A story of love lost and found, of searching for answers to where you truly belong and discovering things about yourself that you never knew.  It was a 4 star read for me and I would recommend it to everyone!  Vi Keeland has done it again!  I eagerly await the next amazing story that she creates!

"I think I fell in love with Emily before I even understood what falling in love meant."

Zach and Emily have been friends since they were 8 years old when she moved in across the street and he ran to meet her in his batman underwear.  Always together, they were the best of friends, until they grew up and their friendship became something more and they fell in love.  A love that would stand the test of time? Zach wasn't so sure anymore.  Emily had become someone that he no longer knew, and he was beginning to question his feelings for her.  Consumed with outward appearances and what others thought of the perception of their relationship, she seemed to give little thought to the feelings of love that she claimed to have for Zach.  Zach was seriously contemplating breaking things off with Emily when the unthinkable happened; following a fight at a party where he leaves her to find a ride elsewhere, she gets into a deadly car crash, shattering everything that Zach thought he knew.

Nikki grew up with her mother and little else.  Growing up fast to try and take care of herself and her mother, Nikki knows nothing of her father or why he was never a part of her life.  It is only after her mother's death that she decides to try and search for the answers that she thinks are the key to finding her father.  Moving from her trailer home in Texas to live with her mother's sister in California, she has one focus; sneak around to find the clues to who her father is and then leave.  She never planned on Zach or the connection that she has to him.  A connection that becomes so much more then she ever imagined.

Although Nikki became comfortable with her life in California, in her caring relationship with her Aunt Claire and her growing feelings for Zach, she makes discoveries that shake her to her core and cause her to flee back to Texas to her best friend Ashley while she tries to wrap her head around everything.  Once Zach discovers the same truths, he knows that there is only one thing for him to do, jump in his car and drive to Texas to be with Nikki and convince her to come home, to him and her family.

"He looks up at me, gazing into my soul with his blue eyes that tell me everything I need to hear without saying a word."

Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn't change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work.  She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night!

Dylan Scott is a New York trial attorney, wife and mother of four.  She believes her job as a trial attorney is a subcategory to the field of entertainment more than law.   With a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature she believed teaching English was a destined career choice until she realized her life long talent of "argument" could actually be her job.   A recent, fairly boring, midlife crisis resulted in a brief stint as a middle school English teacher which confirmed that she wasn't ready to give up the law.   Dylan has also taught legal courses at the college level and worked with at-risk inner city youth in the roles of mentor and coach.  She is co-author Vi Keeland's
biggest fan.
